Following the letter you sent to me regarding the new position, I am delighted to express my gratitude and personal appreciation. It is an honor to be selected as the most suitable candidate among the many candidates who applied for the job. I am also grateful for the salary that the organization is offering. However, the salary is well-below the salary I was looking forward to work for. Your company is offering me $ 500, 000 annual salary, which is 25% less than my expected salary. Ideally, the salary is reasonable and relates well to the current labor market. But to be sincere, I fell that my qualification and motivation requires a 25% increase in the initial offer from the company. To back-up my salary negotiation, I vividly present my experience, education qualifications, what I will offer to the company as well as other interpersonal efforts that will prove worth improving the salary.
To anchor my proposed salary, I have acquired enough experience to work for this position in this company. From March 2017, I have been working as a cashier at Willo Food Distribution. In this position, I was privileged to handle the company’s cash, credit, and check all transactions with customers. This has made me very competent in matters to do with transaction and customer service management. I also issued receipts, change, and refunds to the rightful recipients. Through this, I have been able to improve my experience in handling cash. The company also gave me the responsibility of making sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introducing new products. On top of this, I acted as the store manager, where I received goods for the store, packed them, labeled the item, and quoted them with prices to make it easy for the buyers to make their price choices easier. From this, it’s clear that I have a whole pack of experience to work on the position. Above it, I am sure this convinces the management of my salary proposal.
Apart from working at Willo Food Distribution, I am also delighted to introduce you to my rich educational background. I have studied at Dunwoody College of Technology, where I majored in Computer Network System and Associate of Applied Science. I am expecting to graduate in May of this year. I also enjoyed a comprehensive scholarship at Fred Christine Meyer Endow School for Women in Technical Careers scholarship. From this, I have accrued enough computer skills in the following computer technologies. I am excellent in Windows server 2016 & 2012 R2 Administration, Wireshark, AWS, Cisco Packet Tracer, Linux Administration, VSphere, Workstation, ESX, and VMWare. Finally, I can confirm that I am excellent at Windows SQL 2016. In my position, I will be able to apply all of these to oversee the success of the company.
At my position, the company will benefit a lot from the experience and the education I have. I am fluent in English, Maymay, Swahili, and Somali. Being bilingual in these four languages will help me serve more customers from a different language group. This will benefit the company to increase its customer base. Secondly, I have excellent communication and computer skills. Communication skills help an employee to serve the customers in the right manner to increase their satisfaction. A satisfied customer will automatically come back again with more friends. Thus, I will be on the right track of fetching more customers for the company. Lastly, I personally carry myself in a professional manner that most customers require. Working in this manner means that I will be a driver in increasing the company’s annual income and gross profits. This translates to my request for an increased salary that deserves my reputation.
I am also delighted to share another side of my professional rewards that have been accorded to me as a reward for my achievements. In the year 2017-2018, I was crowned with the Somali Student Association Award. In February 2018, I was rewarded as the student of the month due to my efforts to overcome the initial challenges I had during the class on computer technologies. I worked even harder in the year to grab all class concepts regarding computer technology literacy. My efforts were fruitful, and I was awarded MVP of the week on April 9th, 2018. All these efforts are clear indications that I am a go-getter who does not enjoy comfort zone.
I am looking forward to meeting with the salary regulatory board of the company. I will be delighted to negotiate my salary with the board.
