Dear friend,
I am writing this letter with the intention of explaining to you the two significant aspects of Plato’s Republic. I hope you find the message compelling. Plato was a philosopher from the ancient Greek who was taught majorly by Socrates. In his philosophical writings, Plato identified two significant aspects of the Plato’s Republic, which includes justice in ethics and political justice that created the argument on justice and broader explanations by Socrates in the Plato’s Republic. Socrates was a philosopher who existed in the ancient Greek. According to the Plato, justice was to be viewed in two dimensions; justice in political communities and personal justice. Plato was mainly concerned with justice for happiness, and his analytical worry in the interchange was based on ethics and politics. In an attempt to reason with Plato’s idea of political justice, the Socrates, therefore, came up with an imaginary city and called it Kallipos in their discussion to broadly illustrate the meaning of political justice. In their speech, the Socrates emphasizes more on the political regime and its reflection of justice in society.
In his argument of ethics, Plato explained an excellent overview of ethics and his main concern was morality, virtues and vices and goodness and evil. Plato’s view perceived good ethical conducts to be a situation that brings about happiness which he described in a different manner as self-recognition with a self- ample state of a healthy human being. According to him, the soul must remain detached from the body in order to avoid unethical behaviors in the pursuit of the worldly knowledge, that which does not much the public opinions that demanded the inferiority of an individual’s needs and wishes for the common good. Plato emphasizes on ethical discussions based majorly on virtues and good and evil souls and how they can influence the level of morality in the society. He also illustrates the role of the family in upgrading ethical beliefs in the community where he stresses more on the importance of the role of women in the society and how they can help in promoting moral beliefs from generation to generation.
