Which field of marketing interests you the most, and why?

The field of marketing is a great and enjoyable field that many would like if they get to know what really takes place. The promotion or advertising part is the field that interests me the most. With the advanced technology and the internet, advertising has become interesting that one can do it in the comfort of their home. For instance, through social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, among others, one can reach a large target. Besides, the creativity that goes with advertising fascinates me.

Do you think marketers have responsibilities beyond selling products?

I believe, unlike in some years back, marketing has now extended, and marketers now have responsibilities beyond selling products. The new digital world is changing everything in the marketing field. The marketers now, unlike before, have to be creative and know how to use digital media to their advantage. They need to come up with the best strategy, analyze, plan, and know-how to execute their decisions to maximize the opportunities that the new digital age presents. Many great companies failed because they had the notion that they were already established. Companies such as Nokia, Motorola, which were once giants, were overtaken by the digital world. Others like Toy R Us and Kodak also failed to embrace the new digital world, which is the main reason they are no longer the giants they were.

Which are your favorite TV commercials

One of my favorite commercials is Airbnb’s “We Accept.” What interests me most about this commercial is its message of inclusiveness. The company shows how it embraces differences. Its simple and strong statement spans genders, different ages, and different races. Another one is Procter & Gamble’s “The Talk.” In this commercial, Black parents are seen warning their children about prejudices and racial bias they will face. The commercial celebrates cultural identity and strikes a conversation that is meant to stop racial bias.

Which form of utility offered by marketing intermediaries benefits you the most, and why?

I believe place utility benefits me the most. Sometimes I am engaged with other things and may not find time to go and buy a product that is so many miles away. Therefore, having them delivered at my doorstep or having the stores near me makes it easy for me.
