Question 1

According to Kavanagh and Johnson (2017), human resource information management is the centralized organization of employee master data that is carried out by the human resource management in their core human resource. The process of human resource data management is carried out through a human resource information system (HRIS) that is tasked with storing, processing, and managing employee data such as names, addresses, security details, and other important information. HRIS provides human resources with functions such as tracking of applicants, recruiting, and management of attendance, performance appraisals, and benefits administration. It also features employee self-service functions and maybe accounting functions. HRIS is a smart database for the management of employee information. The data stored in this system is more functional and reachable due to data interaction, the processes that can be performed, and the reporting abilities.

The most essential need in the current organizational sector is the need to know employees. Employees represent the main component of enterprise management due to their knowledge, technology prowess, and service. A human resource information management model based on Blockchain can help in solving issues related to the validity of HR information and offer valid choice support information to an organization. Incorporation of blockchain technology simplifies functions such as verification and assessment of education and skill and performance of potential employees thus helping the HR to hire them to the right positions. Incorporation of Blockchain technology creates a complete and reliable Blockchain-based information record for their skills, education, training, and workplace performance. A system based on Blockchain enhances employee mobility and cross-border payments, such as tax obligations and global expenditures, with the possibility of organizations to build their corporate currencies. The system also boosts productivity by minimizing the issue of routine, heavy data processes such as administration of VAT and payroll. The system will also lead to the prevention of fraud and increase cybersecurity in HR (Muftic, 2017).

Question 2

According to Zhu (2015), Blockchain is made of different decentralized nodes while traditional databases use client-server network architecture. The main property of blockchain technology that differentiates it from traditional database technology, is its public verifiability, which is built on integrity and pellucidity. In Blockchain, the user is sure that the retrieved data is unadulterated and inviolate because its movement was monitored and recorded. Every user is permitted to verify how the blockchain has been affixed over time thus enhancing transparency. In a traditional database, a user can create, read, update, and delete data while in blockchain the user can only append the data. A user can only add more data in the blockchain and any previous data is stored permanently and cannot be changed.

The client-server model is a distributed communication system built on network processes among service requestors, clients, and service providers. Compared to the Blockchain system, the client-server model processes and stores all data and relays output processes to the client while blockchain does not relay the output process. In client-server, processing can be handled by clients although it needs server data resources for execution. The main distinguishing factor between Blockchain and client-server model, is that the client-server has many client requests that can overrun the server resulting in malfunctioning and even total failure (Kavanagh and Johnson, 2017).
