Maya civilization
Just as the Olmec civilization ended, the Maya arose. The Maya civilization began in southern Mexico and Central America. The Maya cleared rain forests and built towns. They built pyramids to the gods of rain and of earth.
The Maya used what the Olmecs had learned. They studied the Olmec culture. Then they watched the sun, moon, and the planets. They had made their own calendar. It showed many rituals set aside to honor their gods.
