Most writers can write after getting inspiration
Most writers can write after getting inspiration. For me to be able to write even good classroom essays, I need to find inspiration. The inspiration mainly comes from podcasts, which I listen to all the time. I was never able to sit down and start working on assignments without setting up the mood for it in my mind. When I tried to work in this manner, I found that I would hand in substandard work, and the teacher would give me a low grade for it. I learned that podcasts worked for me when I listened to an episode of Modern Love the podcast, and I felt so inspired and having so much self-reflection after the podcast. I was able to do my assignment, which i later read to the classroom. The use of podcasts became my go-to process when I had some writer’s block with assignments.
Writing is not something that comes naturally to every writer. When I was young, I used to walk everywhere with a notebook, and every time I would hear or read something that I thought was deep and thoughtful, I would write it down. I loved having different phrases that were used in different situations ranging from weddings to funerals. People tend to be getting very deep and philosophical when their emotions are heightened. This scribbling of phrases was very instrumental, especially during my high school journey. This scribbling has minimized but has not entirely changed. I still scribble down phrases when listening to the podcasts. I later analyze these phrases and try to see what the speaker achieved through their choice of words.
Most people find podcasts as entertainment, but I have found them to be my solace when I need an escape. They have become my current process when I am handling assignments. When I get an assignment, I first read it thoroughly in class to try and understand it. When i leave class, and throughout the day, I think of various ways and approaches I can have on the assignment. If I do not have any ideas, I decide to distract myself through the use of podcasts. Modern Love has numerous episodes, and no episodes are similar. I scroll through the podcasts and choose the one with the best title and listen to it through my headphones. This distraction is often for an hour or two before tackling my assignment. Afterward, when I decide to work on the assignment, I find that I am inspired and full of ideas. This process works for me perfectly.
This process was not influenced by anything or anyone to be exact. I found my Love for podcasts when I was in high school, and when I discovered the Modern Love Podcast, I find it very profound. The podcast involves reading essays written by different people across the country, and they all talk about their lives and experiences. This podcast is a platform that I found allows people to experience talent and insight from all over the country. Some of these experiences are sad, but they make you think and see life in a different way. Different people find different ways to distract themselves and different ways work for different people. I always need something that gets my mind in the right mental space, and listening to essays done by other people assists with this immensely.
