Motivation

One reward that motivates me most is when I win or achieve what I had set to achieve. Whenever I achieve the goals that I had set or get closer to achieving them, it makes me want to wake up every day and work harder to get to where I want to be. Once I have chosen to do something I look forward to, I think it as a way of becoming the person I have always dreamt of or the person I want to be in the coming days. When doing something, I try not to think of how difficult it is but how good it would feel or how proud I would be to have achieved it.

I feel motivated at work because of the value I provide for my employer and the customers that gain achievement from the services I provide. To know that people rely on me to make sure that they are getting what they need like days off, enough hours at work and the company runs smoothly even when there is a crisis; this motivates me more because I provide value to the people around me. I also feel motivated because of the passion I have for my work and having a good team. Having great teamwork makes me long to go to work because we help each other learn new things and work together to accomplish our goals. Teamwork makes it easier for us to overcome any challenges and help anyone who might be struggling.

I struggle to motivate people because I have realized that what motivates me is not what motivates other people. I was once a manager in a country club, and I would reward my best employee with very expensive golf balls, but I forgot to ask if she plays golf; later, I learned that she is motivated by feedback.
