My perception of leadership

My perception of leadership is dependent on the ideals that I have kept in mind throughout the time and the manifestations of leadership that I have seen from people whom I often admire as characters in films. The greatest scenarios of good leadership I have seen in a movie have emerged from the Black Widow of the Avengers. She has demonstrated multiple times how and when to lead, direct, teach, inspire and energize a team of film characters, and I believe that the film would not be the same as it is presently without her. Thereupon, some leadership ideas can be applied to provide clarity on how we learn about her leadership.

The Black Widow appears to be a transformative leader. She demonstrates the elements of this theory she persuades the reluctant Bruce Banner in a non-violent manner to support the team and how supports Clint Barton (Hawkeye) in breaking the brain-control spell that Loki had put on him. In this way, she articulated the essential aims and significance of their mission to Hulk in a transparent way. Secondly, Black Widow is a servant leader in the way she delivers high performance and standards. She devotes her superhuman endurance abilities to saving her team and helping to execute the mission. Ultimately, Black Widow is associated with Leader-Member Exchange’s theory in her connections and the creation of unique interactions with given members of the Avengers team. This is clear during the Seoul chase scene, where she has an outstanding collaboration with Captain America and other male characters. Besides, she seems to have a wonderful relationship with Hawkeye’s kids, which means that she is trustworthy despite having been taught to kill since she was little.

In conclusion, it is apparent that Natasha is strong superheroine and emulates the leadership qualities set out in the leadership theories explored in chapter 12. She is capable of finding a balance between strength and power and displaying emotional intelligence which fostered the team to achieve overall success.
