My Placement Experiences
Placement allows one to develop and discover technical skills. Every situation presents a different set of problems that require different problem-solving skills. During my placement, I experienced real-life situations, which motivated me to develop technical skills that apply to practical situations. Also, most of the work done during placement is done in teams. Therefore, I learned critical teamwork skills that can be used in any case. Most importantly, I learned that I had excellent leadership skills after my team members nominated me as a team leader twice.
During my placement, I learned that I enjoy working with other people. Through teamwork, I was able to achieve high-quality work. Furthermore, I learned to advocate for myself as I shared my ideas with my team members. Also, I learned communication skills as I had to listen to ideas from other team members. In our line of profession, one should have excellent communication skills since communication is the foundation of quality services. I further learned how to convert theoretical ideas and apply them in real-life practice.
Based on my placement, I now know my strengths and abilities. I love researching and supporting my ideas with irrefutable facts. Also, I have confident communication skills which make me an able team leader. I also learned that everyone has their ability. I understood that diversity makes problem-solving easy. Therefore, as I work tirelessly to learn new techniques from my colleagues, I am equally focused on improving my strengths and abilities. I know that experiences are the best teacher, the reason as to why I love researching and testing whether my ideas can be applied in real life.
In conclusion, my placement was an opportunity for me to learn new skills and improve my techniques. I look forward to more practical work in real-life situations.
