my preferred Halloween reminiscences as a child
One of my preferred Halloween reminiscences as a child was the time, we could figure a mannequin as a family and place it on the worktable in front of our porch. The mannequin would be left there for one month and on the night of mannequin my father would wear the mannequin’s attires and then be seated in its place with one of his hands swathed around the large vessel of bonbon with a symbol that stated; you can only have one. When anyone dared to take two or more, my father would move his arm to frighten them. At times he could frighten the older individuals as well. I and my siblings would view from the hole-in-the-wall or at times rawhide on the grasses to have a better watch.
One of our Halloween customs was also pumpkin crooked competition that I and my cousins and siblings used to take place in. our granddad would, therefore, come to choose the best-curled pumpkin. The best curler would receive presents such as mustard apple, a bag full of chocolates, and small pumpkins. I was always the winner and for a very long period, I had confidence that I was the best at curling the pumpkins. But I soon came to realize that grandad would place his hand over the pumpkins to scrutinize and every time he touched mine, I could jump in happiness with great faith he chooses mine. I am now starting to have second thoughts about this.
