My steps to success
Introduction
Christians need to take a specific path in their respective careers. As Christians, our career growth is guided by what God expects of us. Our jobs are important to God; therefore, it is critical to ask what career path God wants us to take. From the Biblical point of view, God calls people to specific careers and guides them through those jobs. Calling on God gives Christians the strength and endurance they need to succeed. There are different steps Christians must follow to succeed. This paper will provide a summary of the nine steps to success by integrating scriptures and personal experiences in university and workplace.
Discussion
My calling in life is to live a life that responds to God’s calling and aims. My vision is to be a significant contributor to processes that enhance creativity at my place of work as well as being a source of inspiration to other people who surround me. My mission is to apply my God-given talents in leadership and administration that are in line with my career path. My strong values guide my goals and objectives as a Christian in the living faith, innovation, continuous learning, and creating lasting change. Being a human being, I will have to meet my physical needs before experiencing spiritual needs. The potential barriers to my success as a Christian emanate from the environment and personal life experiences. The potential hurdles include emotional boundaries, intellectual barriers, and the voluntary barrier. There are several action steps that I will take to overcome these barriers. To overcome the psychological obstacle, I will surrender my life to God for security and love. Surrendering to God provides confidence and comfort. The intellectual barrier will be overcome by trusting in God, which leads to truth, direction, and success. Finally, I will overcome the volitional obstacle by turning to God.
Steps to Success
Step 1: Christian experience
Achieving the Christian experience requires believing, adhering to, trusting, and relying on Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. We should believe in the truth and stand firm in it, and the Lord knows that Jesus died for us (Colossians 1:20-23). Christian journey teaches us the Christian certainty, the new life, and the application of knowledge on Jesus Christ in our everyday life. Christianity certainty equipped me with insight into what I was supposed to do to become a Christian. This knowledge strengthened my Christian values at the university resulting in the successful completion of my course.
Step 2: The Christian and plentiful life
As Christians, we live our lives characterized by a close relationship with Jesus Christ. The Christian life begins when we have faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). By his life, death, and resurrection, Christ proved to be faithful hence the need to entrust our lives to Him. Experiencing God’s work in people’s lives enables them to live an abundant life. Being obedient and faithful to God has continued to give me the wisdom to be successful in my career and relate well with my colleagues at work, which has positively changed my life.
Step 3: Understanding the Holy Spirit
Christians must understand that the Holy Spirit exists in the form of a caring and loving person who makes a difference in our lives. The Holy Spirit is made up of the brains, feelings, and desires. The Holy Spirit has intellect, emotions, and will (1 Corinthians 2:11, Romans 15:30, 1 Corinthians 12:11), respectively. The Holy Spirit empowered me to attain my knowledge at this university and success in my career by enabling me to lead a life founded on Christian values.
Step 4: Being prayerful
Christians show obedience to God through prayer. Christians must have reasons and motives to pray (John 14:13). God has purposes when He teaches us about prayer and what we must do before we connect with him in prayer. God desires and is delighted by a specific way of worshiping. As a Christian, I plan for my daily devotional time to pray in the manner that God wants.
Step 5: Reading the Bible
Christians gain inspiration by reading The Bible, which is God’s Holy Book. The Bible is God’s word that is divinely inspired, and it is the foundation of our Christian faith in God. The Bible is used to teach, rebuke, correct, and train righteousness (11 Timothy 3:16). The Bible gives us God’s views on how we should live. Fellowshipping with God by reading the Bible enables me to connect with my God. My experience in reading the Bible confirms that God loves us and wants us to fellowship with Him.
Step 6: Obedience
In a Christian’s life, obedience is the key to knowing God’s will. Knowing the will of God entails surrendering ones’ life to Jesus Christ, obeying the Holy Spirit, and loving our God. The Holy Spirit guides us when making critical decisions in our lives. God created us and knows the purpose for which he created us; therefore, his way is the best (Romans 8:32). Obedience is what enabled me to excel in my studies in college, as well as achieving career growth.
Step 7: Witnessing as a Christian
Christians should not be ashamed of being Jesus Christ’s ambassadors. Christians should emulate Jesus Christ by showing concern for the non-believers. Jesus Christ wants all humanity to be saved through repentance (2 Peter 3:9); no one should perish. Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples. Sharing Jesus provides me with the opportunity to speak to non-believers whose lives changed in this university after repenting Without Jesus Christ, humanity is lost.
Step 8: Christians as givers
Christians must realize that God has an overall claim on their lives because He created them (Colossians 1:16). According to the Bible, “those who live no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again” (Corinthians 5:15). God controls our bodies, possessions, time, and talents. As Christians, we must trust God with our finances. When God gains ownership over everything, in our lives, we become accountable to Him. Trusting my finances to God enables me to make informed financial decisions at my current place of work.
Step 9: Understanding the Old and New Testament
The book of Genesis provides insights into the creation of man, his temptation into sin, and God’s willingness to save him. Reading this book gives us information on how the world came into existence (Genesis 1), and how the first man was created (Genesis 1:27). The book of Genesis provides information on the origin of sin and how this sin continues to affect humanity. The New Testament reveals that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, which fulfills the prophecy. As a Christian observing my calling to my career path, the teachings of Jesus Christ are the basis for my success in my career choice. Jesus teaches love, forgiveness, and faithfulness, which are crucial virtues to Christians.
Conclusion
Jesus died and resurrected to pay the ultimate price for our sins. When people receive Jesus Christ, they start living the Christian life. Obedience tests our love for Jesus Christ, and it’s the way to discovering God’s plans in our lives. To succeed in our endeavors, we need to let Jesus Christ into all spheres of life. God reveals Himself to people and directs them when they trust, obey, and live a righteous life.
