Neurological disorders are dysfunctional behavioral patterns that affect normal emotions, behaviors, and thoughts, leading to considerable distress to an individual. Autism is a notable example of a neurological disorder characterized by difficulty in communication and interaction with other people. Autism affects individuals specifically by restricting their interests and repetitive behavior symptoms that injures the person’s ability to perform their duties properly at school, home, and the workplace.

Various signs and symptoms of autism get depicted as early as two months in infants. However, the signs vary from one person to another but usually entails less or no smiling and lack of eye contact in its early stages. Autism affects length, learning, and memory. Students who have autism always experience difficulty in maintaining eye contact, delaying in language development, they still face resistance to minor changes in routines or their surroundings, and loss of previously acquired speech. Such conditions deteriorate the academic performance of most students suffering from this neurological disorder.

Autism is treated through an appropriate diagnosis that has to be carried out by a professional medical doctor. Some people tend to show signs and symptoms of autism but don’t have it. However, autism is a genetic disease that runs in families. Changes in specific genes increase or decrease the risk of s child developing autism. Other factors, such as the environmental risk for patients genetically predisposed to such disorder, may also increase the chances of developing autism. To control its spread, greater awareness of scientific knowledge about autism is vital.

Furthermore, parents with children who have autism need to expose their children to relevant autistic help centers to allow the children to receive psychological training sessions to counter react to the disorder. Noteworthy, classrooms should incorporate assistive tools and technologies such as charts, monitors, and videos that play a crucial role in the development of a child and structure. This technique gives students with autism disorders a fair and equal chance of being place together with their peers.
