Nursing Program
Starting the nursing
program is a milestone for successful professional development in the nursing
industry. It will require a great deal of passion, commitment and effort to
complete my nursing program successfully. I plan to utilize the right academic
and professional resources available to accomplish my career goal to become a
registered nurse. The following are some of the academic and professional
resources I plan to use to succeed both academically and professionally in my
nursing program.
The first academic
resource I plan to use to advance my knowledge is peer-reviewed journals.
Peer-reviewed journals are considered to be useful academic resources for
nursing students. These journals provide high-quality, reliable, and accurate
research information that students can use in their research papers. More
importantly, Peer-reviewed articles are published and reviewed by other experts
in the nursing field for accuracy, integrity, accuracy, and main ideas. Some of
the peers reviewed journals that I can apply in my studies include; ‘BMC Nursing, American Nurse Today, American Journal
of Public Health or AORN Journal.’
Further, I will utilize the Academic Skill center provided by the
school. Academic skill centers provide students with free one-on-one tutoring,
study halls, and workshops to achieve their academic goals. In addition,
academic tutoring offers student’s strategies and techniques that are important
in supporting skills development and success. I will make sure to frequently
contact the Academic Skills center tutoring services at the university to
improve my critical thinking skills, assignment strategies, preparing a
literature review, and academic integrity skills. This will help me to complete
my nursing program successfully.
The school of nursing
faculty members is also part of my academic resource. The nursing faculty is
made up of researchers, academic advisors, and scholars with high academic
credentials and teaching abilities. These members use their nursing expertise
to help students achieve their goals of becoming registered nurses and succeed
in their careers. Therefore, to succeed in my nursing program, I will ensure to
network with the faculty members through regular discussions and communications.
I believe my professors will offer me an opportunity to network and share
knowledge with my fellow students. It is also vital to connect with other
nursing students to gain additional knowledge and skills. The school provides
academic residencies that allow students to collaborate and network with other
students pursuing nursing programs. This will help me to become successful in
the class as well in the nursing field.
Professional resources
will also play an essential role in the success of my nursing program. One of
the professional resources I have identified to advance my knowledge is joining
a professional organization, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
(AANP). AANP is one of the beneficial professional organization in the United
States that works with nurses and help them achieve their professional and
academic goals. Being a member of the organization, I will have an opportunity
to network with other nurses across the country. I will be able to obtain
knowledge from nurse specialists, crucial for my professional growth. This will
help me maximize my career development plan and succeed in my nursing program.
Another professional
organization I would love to join is the American Association of Critical-Care
Nurses (ACCN). My career goal is to finish my nursing program and practice in
the acute care setting. The ACCN is a leading organization that provides
members with the learning resources they need to excel. In addition, the
organization holds conferences that allow the attendee network with thousands
of critical nursing specialists and colleagues. By attending these conferences,
I will have an excellent opportunity to obtain knowledge for my academic
success and professional growth.
Another strategy I will utilize to ensure I complete my nursing program successfully is to have an academic advisor. An academic advisor will be valuable in my academic work. He or she will help to keep me in track with my course work as well as inform me of the classes that I am required to take. More importantly, the academic advisor will help me design a schedule that aligns with my academic responsibilities. As a result, I will complete my nursing program goal promptly.
In conclusion, it will
require a great deal of preparedness, passion, commitment and effort to
complete my nursing program. By making good use of the available professional
and academic resources, I will achieve my academic success and professional
growth. The first educational resource I plan to use to advance my knowledge is
peer-reviewed journals. These journals provide high-quality, reliable, and
accurate research information that students can use in their research papers.
Also, I will utilize the Academic Skill center provided by the school to
improve my academic skills and complete my nursing program successfully.
I plan to make use of
the nursing faculty members with high academic credentials and teaching
abilities to achieve my goals of becoming registered nurses and succeed in
their careers. Further, some of the professional resources I have identified to
