I acquired problem-solving and leadership skills after pursuing my undergraduate in Operations Management and supply chain at Egerton University. The health sector’s operations management gap is an area of concern that I have identified and wish to be the change that I want to see in my country. Therefore, obtaining a Chevening scholarship will enable me to gain excellent training and experience, helpful in bridging this gap through the operations management postgraduate in either of my selected universities in the UK. I have identified three universities in the UK offering Operations management post graduate course, aligning with my vision and mission.

The University of Liverpool is identifiable with a global influence and reach, reflecting its academic heritage as a significant player in the UK’s largest civic institutions. The University is one of the UK elite groups that offer Operations and Chain Supply Management research and enrolls students from diverse backgrounds. The university management is working in partnership with today’s leaders in business and management, thus preparing students to be future leaders. University of Liverpool’s mission is learning to make a difference. The school equips students with good managerial skills and develops individuals committed to making a difference. It makes it possible for Chevening awardee to gain skills and knowledge to use in future roles of solving most endemic issues faced by communities, enterprises, and individuals. A master’s program in Operations management and supply chain will enable me to be part of the change needed in my country of origin in sensitive institutions like the hospital where operation management is currently underserved.
- Heriot-Watt University in Scotland is a named Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner (ELP), a program designed by Bloomberg, recognizing universities leading in experiential learning. I choose Heriot-Watt University because of its partnership with Bloomberg and ELP status achievement. The partnership is an innovative approach that enables students to connect the teaching experience with real-time practical applications. Therefore, winning a Chevening scholarship will allow me to enroll in a master’s program at Heriot-Watt University to explore diverse aspects of economic trends, business behaviours, and aspects of markets. These aspects are crucial in my operations management career.
3.I have selected a Master’s Course at the University of Bath-School of Management because of my interest in operations management to sensitive institutions like hospitals in my home country that are failing not because of lack of scientific expertise but due to poor operations management. I am aware of the high demand for efficient and effective operational managers in developing countries. The need to control costs while improving the quality of services offered in health services to patients influenced my decision in selecting the University. Bath-School of Management will ground the base knowledge needed to get ahead in the desired operations management areas. The Chevening scholarship will enable me to gain the necessary skills and expertise.
