Organizational and Managerial Observation at a Nursing Home

Organizational and Managerial Observations at a Nursing Home.
A nursing home needs the involvement of many individuals to ensure that things run smoothly. There has to be an efficient organizational structure to see that things run smoothly in the center. Some administrators are in charge of running the place, and below them are directors who run different departments that are crucial to ensure quality service is delivered to the patients. There are front line workers such as doctors, nurses, therapists, dietitians, and housekeepers who work tirelessly to meet the needs of patients.
The nursing home workers have to ensure the patients are given their medication, providing primary nursing care such as feeding and showering to the residents, preparing meals for them, and assessing their progress as they stay in the nursing home.
In terms of management at the nursing homes, the administrators need to know and understand how the psychology of the geriatrics works to enable them to administer rehabilitation and treatment well to improve the quality of life for the patients. They need excellent communication skills to express themselves well to the patients because some are mentally impaired. The managers act as mediators between the staff and doctors, and they are in charge of ensuring that the patient gets quality care. Decision making in the nursing homes solely revolves around the residents, and therefore it is upon the management to ensure that there is a balance between patient and personnel needs.
