Organized people Vs. Unorganized people
People are of different character traits. Although all people are unique, it is quite common to find people of similar character traits. Two common characteristics are organized and unorganized. Some people are organized and they have a schedule for almost every single activity in their lives. An organized person rarely postpones any business without a genuine reason, and when they do, they catch up as soon as they can. On the other hand, unorganized people are serious hoarders. A disorganized person does not have a schedule for activities, and if they do, they do not follow or take it seriously. Differences between organized and disorganized people affect their behaviours and the way the two categories of people lead their personal lives.
An organized person plans while an unorganized person goes through the day without a plan. An organized person understands that planning makes works more relaxed. When anticipating for an activity, one needs to analyze all the mini-activities involved and allocate time for them. In contrast, unorganized people do not plan. Most unorganized people do not analyze an activity ahead of the day. For instance, in anticipation of an interview, an organized person analyzes the day of the actual interview way forward of the actual day. An organized person plans on how they will arrive at the venue as well as the time. Besides, an organized person will think of some of the questions the interview panel might ask and rehearses way ahead. An organized person will plan for the outfit of the day in advance. In contrast, an unorganized person does not prepare for an interview. In contrast to organized people, unorganized people will wait for the actual day and rush to the interview venue. Therefore, while organized people plan, unorganized people rush in the last minute.
Organized people have a routine while unorganized people do not uphold a daily routine. Organized people believe that how one spends their day is how they spend their life. Therefore, organized people carve out daily routines. A person who has time for everything in their life, including taking out the trash and folding laundry is organized and they believe in daily routines. An unorganized person, on the other hand, does not follow any method. A disorganized person is unable to plan for their everyday life and as such, lacks an effective daily routine. Unorganized people do whatever activity seems urgent and postpone activities that seem unimportant.
An organized person update their to-do lists while unorganized people have one master to-do list. The reason as to why organized people update their to-do lists daily is because they break down their goals into long term and short term goals. An organized person understands that to achieve a particular goal; there must be several steps that one has to go through before reaching the primary goal. Therefore, they create short to-do lists that are updated regularly. However, unorganized people have a master to-do list that lacks steps on how to achieve the primary goal. Due to their ineffective planning, disorganized people rarely update their to-do list because they do not detailed steps on how to achieve their goals. For instance, when an organized person wants to redesign his or her apartment, they create a to-buy list that they update whenever they buy what is on the list. On the other hand, when an unorganized person wants to redesign their house, they take longer to get done with such activity because of the lack of a shorter to-buy list.
Organized people rarely put off activities on their schedules. Organized people understand that postponing activities only overwhelms the routine, and the only way to avoid such scenarios is to accomplish all activities. If an organized person puts off an event, they catch up as soon as they can. On the other hand, unorganized people have the habit of putting activities. Disorganized people take a lot of time doing simple tasks, a practice that explains why they postpone so many activities. For instance, picture two students who have a project due in a week. An organized student will set day or two to work on the project way before the deadline. However, an unorganized student will postpone the project due to some other tasks.
However, in as much as there are many differences between organized and unorganized people, the two personalities share a common trait. Both organized people and disorganized people need to de-stress or kick back after a hectic day. Although people relieve stress in different ways, all people need to rest. Even unorganized people, also though they do not adhere to a daily activity, they feel the need to de-stress in the same manner organized people do. For instance, one finds both organized and unorganized people in a bar unwinding and telling stories after work.
In conclusion, it is quite easy to tell the difference between an organized and unorganized person due to the visible differences in how they carry out their activities. While organized people feel the need to plan, disorganized people rush during the last minute. The most apparent difference is the presence or absence of a daily routine. Whereas organized people have a specific method they adhere to, unorganized people carry put their activities haphazardly. However, both planned and disorganized people de-stress after an overwhelming day; whether one has a routine or not.
