Overview and SWOT Analysis
Coco Bella Restaurant is set to prepare and serve Asian, American, and African meals. The restaurants will also be offering drinks, foods that will be eaten on the premises, take out, and food delivery services to the South African market. In addition, the restaurants will also be offering fast food meals to our new market since it is growing so fast in South Africa. Coco Bella restaurant is set to offer packages to local businesses that need catering services, where we will be offering a variety of meals to South African companies to increase our bottom line in the market. Our catering services will be so different from what the restaurants will offering at the restaurant premises. However, the meals will be related, but the menu used will be suitable for corporates in the country. Lastly, we will also top up our services by offering special seasonal menus; for instance, Coco Bella is planning during the fall. The restaurant will be offering special meals such as pumpkin and other traditional meals such as Christmas goose.
Coco Bella services will be guided with the restaurant’s mission and vision statements. Coco Bella’s mission statement is to increase customer satisfaction, reach out to a wider market, and improve customer loyalty by ensuring we provide the best, accurate, and fastest restaurant services. To offer fresh products that are prepared in a safe and healthy environment. The restaurant’s vision statement is to become the best restaurant with the best meals globally. The objective of Coco Bella is to become the best restaurant when it comes to offering a variety of meals to customers that are safe for consumption. Our goals are to expand our services globally by opening new restaurants in all countries and hiring more than 200,000 employees. Moreover, our goal is to be ranked among the best restaurants globally in terms of revenue and employee numbers. Thus we began our goal of reaching out to other countries by opening a new restaurant in South Africa.
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
- South Africa has various languages, customs, and cultures. The country’s rich culture and the different race of people who speak different languages and follow different customs.
- South Africa is also a potential tourist attraction. Its huge numbers of visitors annually make the country ideal for restaurants to venture into the South Africa market.
- It’s cheaper for European and North American organizations to outsource labor to South African workers. The cost of living in South Africa is low, and workers will accept a lower salary.
Weaknesses
- Despite the fact that the country has the lowest cost of living, it is among the most expensive to live in since its 40% expensive than living in the United States (Frue, 2019). Hence it may make it hard for employees to accept low salaries and demand for salary increase
- The country is also prone to natural disasters since it is bordering the Indian and the Atlantic Ocean. Hence the country is likely to be affected by hurricanes and typhoons. Disasters may impact our restaurant premises.
- The country has a high crime rate, periodic wars, riots, and killings. Moreover, the country is prone to deadly diseases, famine, and drought, which may lead to a lack of groceries in the food stores.
Opportunities
There are plenty of opportunities for Coco Bella in South Africa. This includes offering fast food and implementing drive-thru and delivery services to our stores in the countries.
- Expansion of the restaurant’s menu by including different meals not offered by other restaurants.
- Have an extra-large parking lot that will be enough for our customers to park their cars for free as they enjoy the meals.
- Offer healthier organic and beverage drinks on the menu.
Threats
The level of competition is so high in the restaurant industry in the country. The biggest threats for Coco Bella are La Colombe, Wolfgat, The Test Kitchen, and many other restaurants in the market.
Market trend
Many organizations use the term classic and unique to show how competitive they are to their competitors. The level of competition has made restaurants to ensure they stay at the top by being open and staying on top of trends by adapting to the trends. Many restaurants are phasing out plastic cutlery, Styrofoam containers, and straws. Hence now restaurants are adopting disposable items and those that are eco-friendly. Restaurants have also adopted a new market trend of more plant-based meat options (Cox, 2020). Another market is the increase in offsite dining and dishes with fermented ingredients.
Physical Infrastructure
Restaurants’ physical infrastructure has a direct impact on attracting customers. Hence one of the most essential physical infrastructure Coco Bella will invest on is an ample parking space that can accommodate up to a thousand vehicles. Secondly, is the building, the premises as to where our restaurant will be based will be suited with enough ventilation and lighting. Moreover, our physical infrastructure will well be well maintained and clean.
Communication Infrastructure
To increase our competitiveness, having an app or a social site where we could receive feedback from our customers will be a good start in building Coco Bella’s brand and reputation. The website pages, social media sites, and emails will help the restaurant communicate important information and receive important information from our customers.
Conclusion
There are many benefits of doing business in South Africa. Thus it would be a wise decision for Coco Bella to open a new restaurant in South Africa, Opening a new restaurant in South Africa will also be a start for the restaurant in achieving its goal of reaching out to the globe. South Africa has one of the best cultures, and low cost of living hence easy for the company to outsource cheap labor to the country, the country’s rich minerals also allows new investments hence giving Coco Bella an opportunity to attract potential customers working on the mines and other industries through the restaurant’s catering services.
