Personal Leader

In our lives, we all have that one person that we always look up to, the person who inspires our daily activities and decision, and the person who is a constant reminder of who we are and where we aspire to be (Moskovitz, 2019). For me, that person is my father. Since I was born, my father has been a beacon of hope and strength, supporting me in all of my endeavors and always reminding me that I can achieve everything I set to accomplish in life, as long as I stay committed. My father has been instrumental in shaping the person I have become today, and I attribute my life successes, minor and significant, to him.

On top of my father making his life-long commitment to ensure the best for me, he has displayed numerous admirable attributes and qualities that continue to inspire me. The first one is his conviction and perseverance. My father is a stun believer of truth.  He believes that when you stand by your authenticity and remain on track regardless of any opposition, you are bound to influence others and, consequently, impact the world positively (Jin, Meng, & Berger, 2017). I believe that if everyone could see the world as he does, then it would be a better and less stressful world. The other quality is his prolific art of communication. Though not a motivational speaker, my father has, on several occasions, portrayed his admirable communication skills. Whether it’s in a one on one conversation or he is addressing a big audience, my father can develop personal and intimate relationships with his audience, using his proficiency and eloquence to pass whatever message he intends to. His excellent communication skills are one of the vital skills that I have inherited from him. Finally, I admire his risk-taking qualities (Jin, Meng, & Berger, 2017). While a vast majority of people love staying in their comfort zone, my father believes that it is outside of this comfort zone that you experience real growth. He has taught me that life is about taking risks, and you can never really live life if you always run from the challenges that life throws at you.
