There are large differences between men and women. This attributes to the variances in their personalities, thus creating certain modifications in their lives. However, men and women still share 18% of their personalities. Men tend to be aggressive and forceful; this makes them more dominant over their woman counterpart. On the contrary, women are soft, sensitive to others; this makes them to be more emotionally unstable than men.
Differences between men and women’s personalities exhibit in the choice of careers and dominance in certain fields. Role obligations and varied perceptions have placed over 90% of women in fields such as receptionist, secretary and kindergarten teachers. Only 5% of women choose careers in the mechanics and aviation (Rettner, 2013). On the other hand, engineering and technical careers are primarily for men. Men scoop top positions in politics, science and economy. However, both men and women tend to have a negative attitude towards females in authority and would accept and promote men entering any fields.
Women are more socially connected and make more friends as compared to women. Science establishes that men have more friends than women, additionally the kind of friendship is different from that of women. Men confide less in each other and talk less. In their free time they don’t go for close friendships (Peggy, 2014). Contrary, women get emotional support and care from their friends, and ability to confide in themselves. Additionally, men believe that friendships is a girly thing.
Men tend to be less skilled in handling various issues or tasks at a go. Women have great multi-tasking skills especially in marriages, she will be cooking while talking about other issues; preparing breakfast while catching up with news. On the other hand, men find it had handling multiple issues and would rather ask to engage in conversations later.
A large percentage of men in marriage tend to cope with stress as compared to the women counterparts. Masculine ideologies defines different coping behavior for men than women (Deng and Chang, et al., 2016). Aggressive behaviors in men are more likely to enable them cope with marital related stress. Contrary, women will engage in self-blame and endure more effects than men.
