physical exercise
The relation between physical exercise and health cannot be overstated. Exercises are one. While the time barrier is the most common reason people do not engage in regular physical activity, other factors contribute to few people engaging in exercise. They include;
Lack of motivation. Many people are not motivated to engage in physical activities. They do not find something pleasant in continuous exercise, or the people around them do not motivate them to engage in exercises. Living around people who do not value exercise and do not find the reasons to exercise can be very demotivating. Motivation comes when a person is pushing you each day to live a healthy life and become better. Inadequate equipment pushes some individuals not to have regular exercises. While one can exercise with no equipment, some people believe a need for the proper equipment to get the target results or hit goals. When such equipment is not available, such people will not engage in regular exercise. According to ,regular exercise is as simple as morning runs, and a simple exercise outside one’s premises.
Some cultures advocate for increased weight gain and believe exercises reduces this. Some societies believe that weight is considered a sign of prosperity and health. They believe with minimal or no physical activity; they can maintain their societal values. For example, the Niger in Africa believes in their women’s fattening since birth to enhance their appearance and make them socially acceptable. Some people with disabilities are not able to have regular exercise due to their nature of the disability. This is a challenge for them as few people are willing to guide them through exercise. The sports sector itself has not fully embraced people with disabilities, where some sports do not accommodate the disabled.
Exercise improves physiological well-being in the sense that it improves mental health. Mental health is very crucial in society today. People who engage in physical activity are less likely to undergo mental conditions such as depression and anxiety. By relaxing the body through exercise, the risks of overthinking are low. It also wards away some diseases. Some diseases can be cured by continuous exercise. According to most illness in the modern day are attributed to unhealthy eating and poor exercising. It is required for every person to at least engage in exercise to live a meaningful life.
Having realized that exercise would heal my friend’s anxiety and depression, I would tell them the benefits exercise poses on one’s health. Tagging them along while carrying out my regular exercises would also be very beneficial as they would be motivated to try it. It would require me to be persistent and consistent and show them the fun part of exercising. Taking a few fitness classes together, such as hikes and bike riding, would motivate them to exercise. Any fun activity that involves exercising would attract a friend, which would be a journey to healing their anxiety and depression.
Creating a regular program that pushes them to exercise would be advantageous, and it would be a polite way of drawing them closer to exercising. It would mean consulting my trainer to help recommend the exercise that would improve their mental well-being. Consulting a trainer or a physician is essential to understand what exercises would best fit them and guide them on healing processes. With the regular program, anxiety and depression can easily fade away.
