  1. How to Assess the culture of a team in a faster way

It is essential to remember that the culture of an organization determines the overall performance. There are critical factors that one should pay keen attention to while assessing their way of operation. Talking to the captain could be one of them. Conversations with captains help the coach understand each player based on their capabilities. One of the many ways of winning a new team’s confidentiality is by talking to them via the captain and ensuring he or she helps you by talking to the players on the matters at hand (Arthur, Calum and Alan Lynn, 188). As the right culture facilitates sustainable success also, as a coach, I will analyze the team’s appropriate ownership using the Grip Model and further see how they initiate aspects of honesty, resilience, accountability, and focus. Paying attention to the team’s symbols and symbolic acts will also help in understanding their culture in addition to observing their way of socialization.

  1. How to establish trust with the athletes

According to Lara-Bercial, Sergio, and Jim McKenna, 57, for coaches to gain confidence from their players, one should be direct and open in communicating with the team. As a coach, I will ensure I team them the right strategies of listening in addition to involving them in making decisions. Besides that, I will give out accurate information as well as feedback at the right time possible. And as coaches impact their players by teaching them life skills on how to develop a positive relationship as a team, I will ensure I keep them engaged during the process, keep calm and get to know the players. In other words, setting standards will be an effective strategy for positive reinforcement. In times of need also, I will avail myself of the earliest time possible for genuine interest. Also, to ensure I gain their trust, I will motivate them sufficiently by creating an inspiring learning environment, applaud individual performance, recognize small wins, make each practice count, encourage the team as well as approaching each team differently. Generally, in as much as the strategies, as mentioned above, will be implemented, I will additionally get to know the players, and through that, I will generate the best way to win their trust. Team fun nigh, player-coach meetings and patience in letting the players have fun will be essential because, as a coach, you can learn a lot by listening and watching.

  1. How to make an athlete team stronger concerning activities

Other than setting goals, communicating, knowing each member in the team, celebrating the success and failures of a team as well as valuing each role, I will ensure the team remains strong by incorporating re-cap activities. These will include stretching together before starting an everyday train and having a “get-together” at the end of every month. Besides that, after training and the games, every player will have to say a word based on the observations made in addition to applauding the best player every end of the week. Additionally, players will be expected to tap a hand after the training and apologize whenever they did wrong.

The team will also participate in community activities that nurture the talents of young people by sharing with them their skills. Corresponding, life lessons skills and achievements of the team will be celebrated as one. Every member will be advised to know each person’s well based on their strengths and weaknesses. As members are not obligated to understand each other at a personal level, having an outing or engaging in some offsite socialization area will be of use.

 

  1. How to involve new staff in a new athletes team

The new staff will have different sessions with the new team every Wednesday and Friday during training and life skills lessons, respectively. Additionally, each crew will be assigned to players to coach separately for better performance. At the end of the month, they will be expected to give feedback in the team meetings where they will identify what interested them and what should be improved in the team for better sustainable performance.

During the life skills team, the new staff will be expected to speak to at least two players, and during rewards, they will always be recognized based on the outcomes they have facilitated. Besides, they will play a critical role in ensuring athletes are push to their attainable limits. However, they are not supposed to overwhelm the employees and instead help them become better than who they are before. The players indeed need to be challenged to grow and that it is the responsibility of the new staff in addition to my support. Encouraging the athletes will be part of the new staffs’ daily operations. They will help athletes to go beyond their capabilities and learn to understand and control their weaknesses. In other words, they will be building the confidence of the players in addition to asking them for their opinions. Generally, building athletes’ confidence will come with asking them for their feedback. Additionally, they will make a roadmap. They will help the players move in one direction by sitting them down and creating personal goals that progress in one direction.
