Hello Hilbert! I love your post on the police subculture and how it affects the behaviour and moral standards of the law enforcement officers. I agree with you that any law enforcement officer who is perceived by his/her colleagues to be a rat would be automatically shunned by his colleagues. Mostly such individuals experience hate and aggression from their colleagues. As witnessed in the case of Detective Joseph Crystal, such individuals do not have a backup from the authority. However, I tend to think that they may get solace civil societies advocating from the rights of human beings. But still, they may operate in harsh working environments. Regarding the issue of the blue wall of silence, I concur with you that it is subculture formed in the American police force and exists silently and binds to all police officers. Individuals with strong morals like detective Crystal would go beyond the walls to expose any filth they come across. However, notably, they would eventually become enemies to the system as they may risk demotion or even losing their lives. In light of the verse, leaders are expected to be good role models to their subjects. I agree with you that leaders should also demonstrate love and trust in their subjects.

Hello, Ryan, I have read your post on police conduct, and I have to admit that it is a masterpiece with lots of insight into the modus operandi of the police department. I agree with you that the subculture is quite strong in the police department to the extent that most police officers find it difficult to report any of the wrongful activities. I share with you the same sentiments that in some instances, such police officers may even risk losing their lives following brutality and potential physical harm from their colleagues who perceive them like rats. I am somehow shocked by your post regarding the number of police officers involved in criminal activities. If the Chicago expose is anything to go by, then it is apparent that police officers are not enforcing law anymore. I want to stress that any police officer who attempts to break the wall does not stand to get any support. In relation to the blue wall of silence, we share the same sentiments: it is in practice in the police departments but at different levels. I feel it has made even police officers who are virtuous and with to find it difficult to report any vices happening amidst them. From the biblical perspective, I agree with you that leaders should demonstrate strong morals.
