Introduction
In the recent generation, it isn’t easy to talk about population and not sound misanthropic. Matters concerning population oppose intimidating population limitation policies basing on ethical grounds. Overpopulation in the world and especially in China is unquestionably a fundamental moral issue. However, some people, especially the conservatives, may dissent based on the argument that frank ethical problems need particular indecision regarding what we must do and that practically every individual agrees on what is supposed to be done with esteem to the population. In protecting the persons’ human rights and, most importantly, women, it is fair to say that population increment raises critical concerns on balancing reproductive rights and the equilibrium between human reproductive rights and social, environmental responsibilities. Population control may seem morally wrong, but in the situation where critical thinking is involved, it’s a blessing to the world than disguise. In this study paper, we will discuss why it is morally acceptable to limit the population growth in China and the world.
The rate of population growth globally has not been proportional to the natural resources available to share fairly and equally among the world population. Some people may argue it is no moral right to control the birthrates, but the population’s rate is alarming [ Zhang 2017). For this purpose, the governments of various countries should help prevent this population growth from equaling the resources available. One of the main reasons for fostering the control of population growth is to help tackle environmental issues. If the population growth decelerates around the continent, the climate catastrophe will eventually also begin to go down. It is quite challenging to observe the link between the human population rise and climate alteration.
According to research, it is a fact that every human has needs. These needs typically tend to decode to consume the Earth’s resources to satisfy them [Choppin 2009). This overdependence on human resources eventually leads to extortion, leading to Climatic change threatening the environment negatively. Examples of these adverse effects caused by the overuse of world resources due to unregulated population growth include; extreme and unpredictable weather patterns and the adverse consequences of warming oceans. For this reason, the Earth morally needs to slow the population growth. According to the studies, the world’s anthropogenic effect on the environment may stabilize to around 1.5 centigrade without overpopulation. For this reason, a lower population development may lead to a healthier world for the coming generations.
Population growth control by the government may seem to deny individuals the right to have their biological children. However, based on the conditions of the lower capita accessibility of the fundamental requirements. Some may argue that the supply of some articles is being leveled by domestic production and imports. The per capita accessibility has been inferior because of this rapid population growth. In some countries like China, there has been an increase in unproductive users’ load [McGinn 2010).Weak consumers involve the population that is not employed but consumes the available resources. These individuals are burdens to the countries’ economies, and hence it is morally good for the government to control the growth. Also, with uncontrolled population growth, the job markets are overburdened. This, therefore, leads to a lot of unemployment .it is clear that the population growth is not proportional to the job opportunities worldwide. For these reasons, it’s better for governments, especially China, to control the birthrate to reduce these cases.
Rapidly increased population leads to individuals living a low-quality life. This rapid growth has led to many individuals globally living a below-average life due to the scarcity of resources. Based on the Human development reports, the increasingly poor life quality is due to illiteracy and economic deficiency. This is caused by inadequate health services and amenities due to overpopulation. For these reasons, the country’s governments should control the population growth better. It is also better for the governments to control the population growth because overpopulation affects public utility services. Heavy loads are placed on social amenities like health facilities and education centers due to overpopulation. According to the research, many individuals globally have missed access to these basic amenities like water and transport due to uncontrolled birthrates.
Conclusion
Rapid population growth may seem like a curse to the entire world, but that is not entirely right. This is because in most of the parts of the world, including China. Why is this growth vital? And some also question the importance of this growth. This population growth without restriction helps generate new job opportunities, revenue, and tax proceeds for the government. The increased population also raises property standards, .contributing to inhabitants’ various choices and diversity. However, without population control, an explosion may occur, which means that access to basic needs may hinder economic growth. The population is mounting rapidly, distantly outpacing our planet’s aptitude to sustenance it, provided current activities there has grown need for the country governments to either morally control the rising number of birth rates in their countries.
