From sections 11, I have learned two important subjects when it comes to data sharing within the IT infrastructure. These two subjects are Data visualization and Geographic information system(GIS). Data visualization is a geographical method of representing data through the use of visual elements such as the graphs, charts as well as maps. At the same time, the GIS is a system that is a property designed for capturing, storing, manipulating, managing, presenting as well as carrying on of analysis of the geographic data.
As an IT manager in an organization, I would use these two concepts to rely on organizational information to the organization and the entire public for marketing activities. The organization stores a variety of information that can be used in different ways. Therefore, as an IT manager, I would use the data visualization concept to convey big data within an organization. By this method, the big data will make more sense to the organizational administration as they can visually see the trend of the data. For instance, by the use of graphs against the organization’s financial output, the administration stands a chance to know nether the organization has positive progress or progressing with a negative index.
On the other hand, I would use GIS for mapping and analysis of some services such as data sharing. In an organization, the GIS is appropriate to master the places where the organization has a considerable breadth of customers and where they have a lower number of customers. The GIS would help the organization in arriving at such conclusions. In this regard, it would be worthwhile to use such findings in determining the best areas to carry out advertisements.

I agree with your argument that data visualization is used interchangeably with static graphics or information visualization. In essence, data visualization is a way of relying on the information graphically to the intended audience. In the meantime, we have similar though in that data visualization is most effective when used with big data. It is usually not easy for one to get a trend in big data, especially if it is tabular form; visualizing it with tools such as graphs gives a precise view of the data trends, making it easier to interpret as you put it. On the other hand, the GIS is widely used, and it widens the range over which data can be shared or used. Therefore, I am in agreement with you when you argue that the geographic information system is an aspect that can be used with others to give the data more meaning through processing.

Just as you put it, the data visualization and the Geographic information system can be used to achieve an organization’s goals via application of appropriate strategy. Since the visualization involves the description of the organizational data with the assistance of computers, your method of using it in the big data reduction and conversion seems to suit the description well. This is because such actions will reduce the complexity of the data and make it more meaningful to the users. Also, as GIS is a system that examines the information based on the physical references, I feel that it is a great idea to use applications for marketing. Such a request will enable marketing in the most appropriate places and help in the organization’s growth. I believe that productivity is an essential thing in any organization. Therefore, the IT department team needs to use this concept to build trust amongst the other departments in an organization. This ensures the success of any organization.
