Objectives

1. Implementation of nursing care plans.
2. Developing a good rapport with the nursing staff, patients, and other professionals.
3. Facilitating a friendly consultation with the patients to offer suitable treatments.
4. Conduct nursing research in the field of my interest.
5. With the aid of the management, develop patients’ management care.

Problem

A severe hurdle experienced during my practicum is staff leadership. There are many staff with different specializations. However, the majority are not familiar with their specific roles hence leading to role conflicts. Each came up with different opinions and suggestions of what they think will be prudent in achieving a particular goal.

Analyzing the problem

The above barrier is a dire issue that demands attention. Time is wasted whenever this kind of conflict occurs. With everyone bringing his/her opinion of which they think to be the best will take a long time before a feasible decision harmoniously arrives.

The degree to which the problem was addressed

The management had to attach each staff with their specific roles to avoid this menace.The agreement was It was agreed that it is the role of a clinical nurse specialist to work interprofessionally in determination of the exact problem. He/she is afterwards required to recommend a logical plan of approaching the matter[Laura,2017]

A plan for approaching the matter differently

 The management can provide feedback on the performance of the role-taker and the progress done so far. The aim of it is to allow other willing employees to assist the role taker if there are concerns. However, the management should be keen to avoid repetition of same mistakes [Kemery, Bedeian, Mossholder & Touliatos, 1985]
