“Predictors of Job satisfaction among active duty and reserve/ Guard personnel in the U.S Military” by Sanchez et al.

The hypothesis within the article “Predictors of Job satisfaction among active duty and reserve/ Guard personnel in the U.S Military” by Sanchez et al., (2004), is that psychological, demographic, and physical factors play a critical role in the military personnel job satisfaction among across the armed forces. According to this article, “skilled military personnel retention is a major concern that makes it a top priority for the United States department of defense” (Sanchez et al., 2004). Understanding some of the factors that affect job satisfaction will help take the necessary measures to ensure that the best-skilled workers are retained.

Given the high employee turnover, when an organization can retain employees, this is a significant benefit. This hypothesis will be very substantial to human resource management. Since HR is the most vital and essential in the company’s performance, their knowledge, skills, and experience increase an organization’s value. HRM has a critical role in ensuring that the available skilled workforce in an organization is appropriately utilized. Understanding the factors that affect satisfaction and retention will help satisfy them, and thus employees becoming effective. They will be able to meet the goals and objectives of our organization quickly.

One way of integrating this information into my organization is to develop policies aiming to retain the top talents. I will have in place competitive overall compensation packages for the employees. This will help in promoting the employees’ loyalty. It is import for institutions to identify the relationship between employees’ compensation and retention and see what can be done to embrace the organization’s top performers.
