Professional Development

As an aspiring Real Estate entrepreneur, my long-term goal is to venture extensively in this sector. For this to be made realistic, I would require more knowledge, understanding, and experience in the real estate business. Professional networking is essential for anyone in this sector. Networking helps interact with more clients, which increases sales and helps to access talent for recruitment. Professional networking is also crucial in that; it enables one to understand how things are run in the sector and link up with other agencies, which could help ensure the success of the venture.

Professional networking involves creating a relationship with peers, which provides a platform for sharing ideas and interact with potential clients. For professional networking to be made possible, one should be open-minded and be regularly present at networking events and situations. One should be keen to create and maintain diverse networks to access different sets of knowledge.

Harvard Business Review writer Deborah Mills-Scofield argued that networking has existed for over two thousand years, and it is essential for survival.  She says that networks help spread knowledge and that networks should be encouraged and cultivated, networks are maintained by ensuring that one is an excellent and active communicator, and making appearances at networking events and situations. One should be keen to make new friends and acquaintances and keeping in touch with them.

An article from Paxus Website states that professional networking is an excellent way of acquiring new business leads, meeting more potential clients, and connecting one with similar minded people and organizations (Townsend et al. 2014). Staying in touch with professional networks can be helpful when one is seeking to recruit new personnel. A recruiter is exposed to a diverse set of skills and personalities which he/she may find useful in the real estate venture. Networking also helps boost someone’s confidence, thus facilitating easier advertising and marketing of their business.

Professional networking is also a great way of identifying the best practices and acts as an industry benchmark for beginners. Knowing what others do in the real estate sector ensures you stay at the top of industry standards (Newman, 2018). Networking also provides an opportunity to get mentors in the business, who are essential in guiding one on navigating through challenges or stressful situations. Having mentors and colleagues in the same venture reassure you that you are making the best decisions regarding the business.

An article from Thriving Small Businesses website by Patricia Lotich indicates that networking can also be essential in identifying practical solutions to personal problems. For example, an engineer who you stay in touch with after doing business together can help you design your home. Professional networks can also help one have diverse acquaintances who can be of help in other fields other than the real estate sector.

Regular professional networking within one’s business venture is mutually beneficial. Cultivating functional professional networks and relationships can help widen one’s business profile, provide an excellent opportunity to meet potential clients or mentors who can help you navigate smoothly through the industry. Nurturing relationships with your contacts can also give one satisfaction from assisting others at a professional and personal level.

In conclusion, it is essential for any individual seeking to expand their careers or even businesses to create and maintain professional networks. Just as in any other business venture, real estate entrepreneurs need networking to meet new clients; which increases sales, gets new ideas on the best practices in the industry, and identifying best business trends.
