Project communication management
Project communication management refers to the steps needed to achieve prompt and effective preparation selection, production, management, and final disposal of project information. Project quality management, on the other hand, refers to implementing policies that will maintain standards required by the project management. Effective project communication involves communication among project team members, stakeholders, suppliers and beneficiaries or consumers (Rose pg.27.). The various people involved in maintaining project quality often have different views thus it is necessary for them to communicate and agree on how to implement the project. Therefore, it is essential for project information to be shared openly through proper communication channels. For instance, during planning quality project management communication should occur among all individuals. The stakeholders can address the implementation process, risk, scopes, quality and other considerations. Whereas, the team will have contact with consumers so that they can know the needs of the beneficiaries and what changes to the quality of the goods can make. The methods to enhance better communication are conducting interviews, organizing meetings, encouraging decision making among others. Therefore, effective communication management can let teams resolve the problems, find opportunities, and identify the requirements from stakeholders and customers for the quality of product
Ineffective communication leads to inadequate information among the project team members and stakeholders thus result in low-quality project outcomes. For instance, a food company starts producing baby food, based on the assumption that baby food is more marketable without researching consumer needs. The product may fail to meet the needs of the target customers, thus may attract fewer sales, eventually losses for the company. Besides if the project team members lack consultations and make uninformed decisions, this results in many errors and disagreements during the project thus affecting the quality of the project
In conclusion, effective project communication management works hand in hand with proper project quality management.
