Project summary
Seafish Ambassadors is a group of experts with great working experience, knowledge, and expertise in the seafood industry. They utilize the knowledge and nutritional value of food to help society meet their nutritional needs in a cost-effective way. Just as documented by scholars and researchers in the field of nutrition and health, during this Covid 19 tragedy, eating of nutritional diets that can boost the immune system is one of the recommended ways by medics to fight the disease. We, as the Seafish ambassadours, champion various nutritional value of sea fish, such as being low in calories. Hence the consumption of sea fish is one of the healthy living practices that can help our society kick out lifestyle diseases such as obesity. Our vision entails sharing of knowledge on the health benefits of sea fish, impacting cooking skills, and healthy living practices to the underserved groups within our communities. We have a mission of promoting healthy living through the preparation of affordable, nutritious home meals such as sea fish.
Our key objectives for this project include:
- Provide simplified Fish cookery classes for schools that can be utilized by teachers as teaching aid.
- Create a very simple online e cookery book just for families on fresh and frozen sustainable UK fish dishes
- Conduct an awareness program that helps our communities to utilize seafood as food banks.
- Teach the community members how to create simple and innovative dishes using tinned and frozen fish.
Our main area of focus includes championing healthy living practices by bringing onboard the health benefits of consuming sea fish foods as an economical and accessible food item. In addition, we will be developing different and simple menus which the community can easily prepare at home during this unfortunate Covid19 event.
We will utilize the power of the internet to deliver our menus to our community and the world at large. We are looking at creating innovative yet simple menus that no one has ever thought of as a way of empowering our community to practice healthy living through eating of sea fish, which is readily available in their environment. We are looking at innovatively connecting the seafood industry through launching a website and an online competition that can bring all individuals working online during this Covid 19 tragedy. In addition, we are looking at creating an online E-book with a database with easy to prepare family-friendly recipes and nutritional information.
