Project to Renovate Marvel Studios

Introduction of the Project

Marvel Studios is an American television and film studio that is subsidiary of the Walt Disney Studios and is always known for the production of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films based on characters that appear in Marvel Cosmic publications. Many studios have the advantage or the benefit of lower rent and utilities because most of them do not need to occupy a lot of space. However, in as much as studios do not need a lot of space for the sec of lowering the operating cost, space is essential for smooth conduction of activities in the studio. When there is a larger space, then it will be more convenient to produce films and cinemas. This renovation project, therefore, seeks to expand the studio and also repair the damaged and worn-out parts of the studio. This is because a studio needs to be very much presentable and therefore, the whole premise should be in a state of continuous renovation. The renovation would also include things such as painting the premises and also adding more decorations. A studio needs to be a place of creativity and therefore, decorations should always be done in a creative way that would be attractive to customers. A fresh coat of paint gives the studio a completely brand new feel. The renovation would also involve getting wider curtains and bigger mirrors and this can give the feeling that the room is bigger and this can attract more clients.

Project Priorities

Anytime there is an implementation or execution of any project for a company, prioritization is always very important. There is a need to set priorities right so that the objective of renovating the business unit can be achieved using the available capital. Prioritization allows the company to deal with the things that are urgently needed first because in a business set up, there is always limited capital to do developments and renovations as the company workers also need to enjoy the profits made. Project priority matrix is therefore very important because it allows to present elements to be presented in order and this will reduce confusion and create a certain order that will allow the implementation of the laid out structure easy (Flanagan, 2014).  It also helps to organize the work visually, a step which is very crucial since it helps the management to focus on what matters most. In this renovation project, there are three things that need to be considered and placed in order of urgency and importance. This is the external, internal and lawn and garden aspects of the renovation. The success of this project will, therefore, be determined by the proper arrangements of these three items.

Priority Matrix for Renovating a Company

Interior

In any studio, the interior design is always very important as this is where most of the productions take place. The interior includes things such as appliances, electricals, flooring, heating and cooling, interior painting, carpeting and remodeling (Eder et al. 2016). A studio with outdated and damaged appliances is dangerous to work in as most of the appliances and tools are expected to be very efficient and sophisticated to allow the production of quality work. Damaged appliances are also dangerous to work with as they may act as safety hazards. There is therefore a great need to prioritize repairing the damaged and the less efficient appliances in the company. Inside painting is also very crucial as it will greatly help to create a good atmosphere for the work and this is one aspect of the interior that needs to be given a priority. Carpeting and remodeling also greatly helps to improve the appearance and the general interior environment of the studios. A good working environment in turn, motivates people to work for a longer time and even work more comfortably. This also encourages quality work to be done by the workers in the studio. People also tend to work for longer hours in a conducive environment that is the non-conducive environment and this at the end of the day will greatly help to increase the profit margins of the company.

Exterior

In as much as the interior of the studio is very important and is given the first priority for renovation, the exterior of the studio is also very important. The different aspects of the exterior part of the studio include things such as concrete repair, roofing, exterior painting, driveways, doors and windows. These aspects of the renovation are important because they give the first impression to the clients who come to the premises (Flanagan, Livingstone & McKenny, 2016). A good impression always gives the clients a good mentality and a good attitude that will enable them to even get satisfied with the services being offered in there. A good outlook will also attract good clients as many people do believe that businesses that have good outlooks provide better services and many good clients will be attracted to such businesses. There is there’s a great need to renovate all these components of the external through activities such as painting them and repairing any damaged items. For those which are damaged beyond repair, there is a need to replace them with better ones so that the whole facility will look presentable and also for it to be safe.

Garden and Lawn

A studio business premise can look nicer when all the garden and the lawn aspects are taken good care of. Just as exteriors, it also provides a good outward impression that will attract customers and clients to buy the services offered. The first thing that clients look at is the outward appearance of the business. Good fencing and demarcation, for instance, will show that the place is secured. Landscaping is also very important in the studio as it gives a good impression and also a good environment for doing filming and this at the end of the day will attract a lot of clients. There is, therefore, a great need to repair and furnish them so that they all outlook can look nice and attractive to the clients (Flanagan, Livingstone & McKenny, 2016). When the outlook is attractive and gives the impression that the services being provided are good, it is even possible to charge clients a reasonable price for the services being provided and this will translate to more profits.

Work Breakdown Structure

  1. Interior Renovation

The work structure will be broken down based on the priority matrix and the first and foremost is dealing with the interior renovation. Renovating the interior part of the studio will therefore need a proper allocation of finances and looking for qualified personnel who have specialized with interior designing of studios. Selecting the people to give the tender will be based on fair prices that the people will quote fair prices (Johnson, 2012). The prices should not be so high.

Exterior Renovation

This will be carried out after the interiors have been done. The choice of the human resource will also be based on the qualifications and their past works in different parts of the city. A good company always has a good reputation and this sometimes can be a very good basis for choosing the personnel to handle the work. The work will include paintings, concrete repairs, doors and windows repairs and driveways.

Garden and Lawn

The last bit of the work will be renovating the garden and the lawns. All the breakages outside will be fixed at this particular juncture. The destroyed fence will be fixed and all the damaged components will be replaced (Templi, 2015). Also, there are those components that lie exposed outside that can act as safety hazards to both the clients and the people working there, they will also be fixed to reduce the risk of occurrence of accidents.
