PROMPT 1

Quantitative research designs are categorized into four groups that are descriptive, correlational, experimental, and quasi-experimental designs. A descriptive research design uses statistics to portray the exact characteristics of stations, groups, or individuals. Correlational research design studies the interrelationship between variables of interest. Here, the researcher does not intervene in the experiment. Experimental research design is objective and systematic, where the researcher studies variables and controls the independent variable while assigning subjects to different conditions to ascertain the accuracy of the variables. Quasi-experimental research designs are where there is less control; the researcher controls the independent variables but cannot randomize the subjects (Broomsfield, 2015, p. 34).

The research design chosen is experimental research due to its objectivity and precision. Variables studied under this method are most of the time accurate since they are exposed to different conditions to ascertain their worthiness. The method has been used during drugs and medical trials to ascertain their safety and efficiency. That has been crucial as it has brought significant changes to nursing.

PROMPT 2

Statistical significance and clinical significance has always confused many readers when it comes to interpretation. A study is referred to as statistical significance if the statistic in the study is reliable; for example, the statistics’ accuracy. On the other hand, clinical significant can be termed as the reliability of the studies results in clinical practice. Therefore the results may be of statistical significance but not clinical significance (Ranganathan et al., 2015, p. 169). Clinical significance is dependent on several issues like the implication of the results or study to existing clinical practice or how treatment decisions can be achieved from the study. On the other hand, statistical significance is dependent on sample size, whether large or small, to ensure the results are of statistical significance.

The reason why statistically significant results are not considered clinically significant is that the result may be accurate and used the right sample for the study but has no impact on the advancement of clinical practice or health. The statistical significance results then become of no use clinically since the results cannot be used.

PROMPT 3

The Theta Tau organization is dedicated to nurses and works to ensure nursing becomes established. The vision and mission of the organization provide evidence to ascertain the issues. The vision of the organization is “Connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare,” while the mission is “Developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere” (Sigma, n.d). The organization ensures this by offering the nurses’ leadership programs, education, and research conferences to nurses. The organization also provides an offering to further nursing research. The company has also aligned itself with other organizations that offer leadership studies to nurses to ensure they remain relevant, share ideas, and offer them services and products.

As the world develops and health care is changing, the is a shortage of competent nursing management. I feel this program will be good for me because it will impact the right skills in me to keep track of the changing health world (Sigma, n.d).

PROMPT 4

I can describe myself as a lifelong learner because it was not the end of education for me after graduating and becoming a licensed registered nurse. I engaged in a path of lifelong learning through formal and informal means. The learning process was good because the information I have obtained has kept me abreast of the changing health world. I have attended seminars and conferences and used online videos to learn; I have joined a nursing association; I have done the research and learned more in my work line.

The reason I think lifelong learning is essential is because of the evolution happening in the nursing industries. New technology, ailment, and diseases that require specialized attention will meet a prepared person due to lifelong learning (Sirkoski, 2019). Lifelong learning also helps with critical thinking, problem-solving, reducing errors, improving patient outcomes, and developing a good relationship with workers, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
