Millennial mentality refers to social conscious way of thinking affecting the millennial generation. The conscious mentality rests upon life aspects, may it be family, obligation, all draws to dismaying condition to youths. You have had stress emanating either from betiding social aspects, but not knowing what really trigged it. He who lives by the mountain can’t coach he whom lives by the riverside how to swim, as a part of the millennial generation we battle at psychological issues.

Who’s these millennial generation? You may have asked. Millennial generation refers to those born between 1981 to 1996 averaged at 23 to 38 years. Also, 1997 people forms part of the millennials. Millennial generation mindset doesn’t encompass social aspects of life but also the technology that the society uses. A daunting lifestyle to dwell upon. Most of the psychological aspects befalling the millennial generation include.

  1. Depression

Depression ranks top as the most baffling psychological problem affecting the millennial generation. It sucks when depressed you at time one encounters anxious feelings that may be daunting to withstand. Its noted that depression and anxiety affects 47% of the millennial generation. In 2017, America recorded 36, 000 deaths emanating from depression disorder. Therefore, in the contemporary society depression is alleged to rise alarm to suicidal cases among the youth. Drug and alcohol abuse are the possible diagnostics to a depressed person. Most of the millennials grew up and battles with depression (American University, 2015).

  1. Financial stress

Being financially satisfied is always a thrill of hunt for everyone. There is a great feeling of amusement and excitement since you don’t strive making your lifestyle cushy. However, this isn’t the case among the millennials. Financial stress rains deliberately evasive in the daily life. Northwest Mutual denotes that 78% of the millennials battles at planning for their future and present financial obligations. And so, the millennials aren’t making enough savings meaning the live below the set financial quotas. Indeed, most don’t have future set goals because they live at a paycheck life. What can you save when you don’t get accumulated monies? Nothing right!

Also, pressure emanating from student loans while at tertiary and higher institutions of learning bogs them down. Low homeownership pulls back the millennials when compared to peers of the wont-to-be generation. Great recession is what makes the millennials lie behind the preceding generation, all as a result of economic quantum.

  1. Workplace stress

It feels good to secure a job, but the working environment can pose a challenge to workers. Perhaps is true since most employees often complain of how they’re mistreated at the hands of their bosses. And, so burnouts and workplace distress tops as a contributing aspect to physiological stress in millennial generation. Financial strain and mental disorders are the adverse effect of workplace stress. According to SAP, 75% of the millennials faces psychological stress as a result of workplace experiences.

  1. Loneliness

You may have had those friends who likes to spend most of their times alone. They term it as meditation, but its not; this a sign of depression. A depression tends to isolate him/herself from the rest, don’t take them for granted it’s what rains in their minds that isolates them from the rest. Loneliness is associated with poor decision making, suicidal thoughts, altered brain function, poor physical health, and increased stress to mention a few.

Bottom line

The millennial generation i.e. those whose ages range between 23 to 38 years battles at adverse psychological disorders compared to past generations. It’s these phycological disorders that ultimately triggers poor mental health.
