Psychology: human development.
- 1. I was hoping you could give me a timeline for the following events starting your career buying a house. Getting married having a baby, for both men and women. Meaning, at what age should these events happen?
Early stages of life are primary stages where a person goes through all the education systems to ensure that they get the right education for career choice. This age is between the ages of childhood the to early 20s. At around 23years to 27years, a person should get a job and probably get a house, by the age of 29 years, a person should be married and get a child at the age of 30 years. This will ensure that when this child gets at adolescence, the parents are still strong enough to control the behavior of the child: Nurturing (Ginsburg, & Kinsman, 2020).
- Which one (nature or nurture) has contributed more to making you the person you are? Pick one that has had a greater impact on your development and explain.
Nurture has contributed more to being who I am. Most of the things I have done and still do are those things I have seen in the environment, the social setting that I have lived in has nurtured me to be who I am (Gibbs, 2019). The education that I have had is simply because of nurturing; the culture that I have adopted, including the language I speak, is because of nurturing, and all the experiences of life. Human beings are packages that have all come from nurturing processes where one’s nature has played a very small role. Basically, my physical appearance is in nature, but all the other attributes are more nurturing results.
- Consider the correlational method and experimental method. Identify one benefit one limitation of each.
Correlation methods are able to establish that one thing may cause another thing leading to an explanation in human development. It is however, weak as the research is not applicable in the real world. Experimental methods are good as they can establish a cause and effect relationship between dependent and independent variables. It is however, weak as it may not be used in ethical research.
- Which of the ethical guidelines for research discussed is the most important to uphold? Explain
Experimental methods look more viable to uphold as it considers variables that are a part of the results. Human beings are always part of the world that keeps on changing. The changing of the world is basically the variable that one should look at (Baams, 2019). Today you are un-employed tomorrow. You are employed, today you are married tomorrow. You are divorced. All these are various scenarios that a person should always consider, and so the experimental approach is the best.
