PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER 2
Putting the Pieces Together
According to McLaughlin (2018), the success or failure of an organization depends on its leadership and management. This course has enlightened me on the qualities that an effective health manager should possess. Managers need proper skills to enhance their operations within the healthcare organization (Rich et al., 2018). I have learned from this course on appropriate strategies that I can use to handle challenges as I strive to meet the organizational goals and objectives. I have as well learned about the importance of healthcare research, which relies on academic and scientific innovation. As a healthcare administrator, I shall use my knowledge on scientific research to pose new ideas and suggest alternative answers to social and medical questions, with the aim of having an evidence-based practice and care as the core of health care delivery.
Further, the course has helped me learn a lot of pertinent issues on program planning. Thus, I will be able to devise health programs better, set feasible timelines, focus on priorities, define roles and responsibilities as well as evaluate program outcomes. That way, I will be able to provide charismatic and transformational leadership. All in all, this course has assisted me in learning various research design, statistical analysis, data collection among others. In my view, the knowledge on health care research including data collection and statistical analysis will have the most significant impact on my role as a health care administrator. Notably, evidence-based care is the integration of clinical practice with evidence derived from research (Walshe and Rundall, 2001). As such, I shall use my position to avail the necessary resources to enable my subordinates to conduct scientific research for the benefit of our organization. This course has challenged and made me realize that I did not know many things as a healthcare administrator. I have also learned that I took some things for granted, which caused me to lag in offering quality services.
