Radiologic technology

Radiologic technology is a broad term used in the related health profession that involves X-ray (ionizing radiation), magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and computerized axial therapy. General X-ray technology is a central link between the diagnosis and the physician. X-rays are essential since they help the medical practitioner diagnose and treat the patient based on their conditions or complaints. The Radiologic technologist is a health care specialist who applies knowledge in radiography to assist in diagnosing injuries and diseases. Radiologic technologists work closely with radiologists to carry out a successful diagnosis. The radiologic technologists are responsible for ensuring that the diagnostic image produced is clear and quality by accurately positioning the patient. Simultaneously, the radiologists help the radiologic technologists interpret the medical images to rule out or diagnose an injury or disease.

Since my childhood, I have always had a strong passion for the medical industry. My love for radiologic technology is based on helping the patient find out the diseases or injuries that may cause their lives. Besides, I have outstanding communication skills that are relevant to a radiologic technology career. Apart from being social, I understand that a radiologic technologist interacts with patients who may be undergoing pain, lack social support, or are afraid. Therefore, I have to be the person who can change their perception and mood in a friendly and optimistic manner. I am confident that this career path will suit me since I am passionate about helping others by finding solutions. Additionally, I want to be a radiologic technologist because I am adventurous and curious to experiment with various illnesses that affect people.  Besides, being a radiologic technologist will help me make my future dream a reality.

As a radiology technologist, I will help provide better and innovative health care. For instance, I can research new methods and procedures which provide color-enhanced images that help physicians differentiate between benign and malignant tumors and provide quality services to patients. Besides, I can also improve the existing methods and procedures like hyperspectral imaging. Besides, I also aim to help patients gain quality services at affordable prices.

To complete this program successfully, I will take the following measures; read my application packet carefully, follow all the timelines and instructions precisely. Ensure that I have all vital elements required for enrollment in this program, such as CPR certification, health record submission, a physical exam, and a background check. Ensure I have the basic knowledge relevant to radiologic technology programs like how X-rays are produced, how they interact with different substances and the human body, radiation protection, and ethics related to health care. Focus and improve patient interaction abilities, such as good communication skills. Devote enough energy and time in labs and classes to gain the required knowledge to advance my clinical experience. Exercise regularly and eat well. Shadow a radiologic technologists, especially during the industrial attachment period. Work closely with other students and the lecturer.
