Steve Jobs was both a leader and a manager. He is a man of great personalities who has piloted his company to prosperity. He was one of the most passionate and goal-oriented leaders of all time. His autocratic and innovative leadership helped in transforming the entire technological industry.

Steve Jobs as a leader

Steve was born as a leader in terms of technological innovations. He was a passionate, perfectionist, highly intuitive, and charismatic leader. It was these qualities that made his company prosper. Although his traits towards employees may be unethical, his intelligence, determination, and confidence distinctly matched with his amoral approach of leadership. Jobs was not a relationship-oriented leader but rather a focused and determined leader who demands the best from his employees. One may argue that Steve was temperamental, aggressive, intimidating, and very demanding; while this is true, it was also through his traits that his employees were able to offer the best they could. What makes him an incredible leader is that Steve Jobs rewarded his employees who performed to his expectations; this is an essential leadership skill to encourage his employees. Even those employees who feared him still admired and had great respect for him. His continuous innovation, enthusiasm, and high level of performance-inspired them greatly.

Steve Jobs was a great entrepreneur. Throughout his career, the company of Apple was able to come up with successful innovations and achievements. The company was also able to reach the peak of its market expectations. Steve Jobs’ managerial skills made this possible. He made his employees believe in his goals and accept his outstanding acts. His act of being-impatient and perfectionism brought exceptional results of the Apple Company. Another skill that made him a great manager is that he was intelligent and dearly understood his goals.

According to him, it was essential to build consensus among his senior employees regarding the strategic decision for the company. Some define his leadership as “quiet.” His leadership style was quiet yet effective. Tim was able to establish a good relationship with his employees, unlike his predecessor. Being presented with a position to lead while he was only an employee was a difficult task, yet Tim turned out successful. He used constant questioning to keep his employees on toes. The technique is highly effective at keeping the employees motivated and innovative. He gets the best out of them by merely slicing them with questions.
