Hello Maria. I like the way you have presented your topic and the questions you have chosen. Your choice of questions is designed to answer the research problem. A study to determine the effects of prescription opioids on the unborn baby should be randomized parallel-group design (Tappen, 2015). Therefore to achieve the research goal, a correlation test is appropriate when two variables determine the association.

Grace Ulanday
I find your work very informative, Grace. The research question appropriately aligns with the research topic. In any research, there should be statistical measures in which conclusions are drawn from the data. Both ANOVA and t-tests best fit procedures involving at least one independent variable (Simpson, 2015). Also, independent samples are used in these tests when two subsamples are compared with the outcome measure.

Jana Kent
Your work is very educational, Jana. I concur with you that both dependent and independent variables cause and affect a research study. On the other hand, the main focus of a research hypothesis is to predict the study’s outcomes based on theories and evidence. A null hypothesis is a statistical theory proposing that two population parameters are not related (Tappen, 2015). A dependent variable is a variable that depends on other measurable factors and can change when the independent variable is manipulated. An independent variable is stable and cannot be affected by other measurable variables.

Isamy Pardo
Hello Isamy. I find your work very interesting. I agree with you that a research question defines the aim of the study in question form. It expresses the area of concern, which is difficult but requires improvement (Cayuga Community College, 2020). An independent variable stands on its own, and it is unchangeable; thus, it does not depend on other variables. The dependent variable depends on the independent variables, and other variables hence can be easily changed. A research hypothesis predicts the research expectations, and it is usually made from a previous study on a similar topic.
