Response on Technology

In the world today, people are gradually evolving into the application of new technology. This week, we are presented with three articles on technology: uncanny technology, the uncanny home of overexposure, television, transparency, and mobile phone tribes. Today, technology runs our lives, as most individuals cannot function without smartphones, computers, the internet, and tablets. In a period, technology has managed to explode within the market, and many individuals cannot imagine a life without technology. By paying explicit attention to understanding how we managed to leave the dark ages to the current situation, we acquire a clear picture of how technology evolved and why it must matter in our lives today.

For instance, we are presented with a house currently being built for purposes of Microsoft Cyber Baron by Bill Gates. The house is a state of the art that merges architecture with computer technology. The house is expected to enhance all the standard programmed functions like electronic security and climatic control systems. It is also likely to have massive video screens. We experience a shift from traditional methods of doing things to the new technology from the house scenario. everything is becoming automated. Most items have been made easier by the generation of computerized based technology. Similarly, most people are finding great value in technology, and communication is continually evolving. Individuals require minimum help from others as they have acquired an ability to personify various impersonal settings. Constant connection is becoming the new name to the game, and besides the link, instant availability is also generated with the latest technology.

Moreover, mobile phones have led to the development of new tribes that define social and youth identity. Amongst the children, mobile phones are not only used as a means of communication, but they hold a symbolic significance to an individual’s identity. The youth are investing vast sums of money in purchasing trending mobile phone brands. They believe that a classy mobile phone is a depiction of class and taste. Mobile phone devices also play a significant role in boosting self-esteem amongst youths. You will find individuals with high-quality phones want to show off in public by taking selfies and videos. Unlike other forms of technology, mobile phones have generated gender equality. There is no mobile phone brand associated with a given gender as everyone can access them so long as they can afford it. Moreover, individuals don’t purchase mobile phones for communication and texting with others but rather to exist on the network. By just living on the system, the youth feel a high sense of belonging, and they can acquire something to brag around with. Every other individual wants to have a mobile phone just because the other person has it.

Lastly, there is the uncanny aspect of technology. Technologies such as the female thermometer which have an inexplicable and supernatural basis. Technology has been made beyond the ordinary and the normal. Currently, all accuracy can be achieved through the application of technology. All electronic devices such as personal computers, telephones, ATMs, cameras, compact discs, and computers have their uncanny aspect. Individuals no longer need to move around to communicate, but they can reach anyone despite the distance within seconds. Therefore, individuals are only prone to enjoying technology as questioning how technological devices operate will yield no answer.
