Response to Ciara Hale

Hello Ciara Hale. Thank you for your post this week. In your post, you have discussed the possibility of the reelection of politicians repealing the Affordable Care Act.  The ACA initiative was meant to ensure that all US citizens have access to health insurance despite the financial standard of living (Akirav, 2020). Therefore the politicians aiming to repeal the act will deny the less fortunate their ability to access healthcare coverage (Akirav, 2020).

Additionally, through repealing ACA, there a risk that approximately 24 million citizens will lose coverage (Blumenthal, Abrams, & Nuzum, 2015). This is a considerable number of citizens. Therefore, any politician seeking to be reelected may lose their seat if they seek to repeal the ACA (Blumenthal, Abrams, & Nuzum, 2015). On the other hand, if a group of politicians has a policy similar to ACA, they might be preferred by the citizens.
