Response to Donna Burkett
Hello, I agree that Experimental research is the highest hierarchy in the types of quantitative research conducted in nursing, hence considered a gold standard. It is used to evaluate experimental treatments, interventions, procedures, or other medical practices (Grove & Gray, 2018). The researcher manipulates the variable whereby different groups receive different interventions and evaluated results to show the effectiveness. It provides a cause-effect relationship in the study. Non-experimental is deemed descriptive as it only seeks to understand the correlation between two or more variables in a study. In non-experimental research, the investigator doesn’t manipulate variables; instead, they use the variables as they appear. Therefore, no cause-effect relationship is established (Yu, 2020)

Response to Janis De La Cuesta
I agree that the researcher in the experimental study manipulates the participants’ variables in the research (Grove & Gray, 2018). The researcher afterwards allows the results from the manipulated variables to present naturally. The main focus is to interfere with the controls to notice any variations that may occur to notice the causal-effect relationship. In a non-experimental study, the researcher isn’t involved in manipulating the control variables; instead, the researcher quantifies the variables naturally as they present in the study (Libreyexts, 2020). The non-experimental research provides few or no information about the causal agent since it doesn’t seek to understand the cause-effect relationship.
