Securing the US Borders for the next five years
Introduction
Organizing the flow of people and goods gaining entry in the US is vital in promoting national security, especially to the US communities living in the Border States. For decades now, illegal immigrants have compromised the safety of the US citizens and that of their properties either by entering the US illegally or extending their lawful period of admission. By doing so, the illegal immigrants disrespect our national sovereignty, threaten public safety, make capital out of the US social welfare programs, and disregard the legal immigration guidelines. As a result, I am setting out a five-year well-elaborated border security approach towards securing and managing US border points as well as suggesting tougher punishments to be put in place against those people who are shamelessly violating immigration laws.
Securing all borders
Making sure that every community residing in the US is more secure depends on organized operational control in the air, land, and maritime borders. The threat of terrorism, transnational criminal organizations as well as other threat actors, orchestrated from sources is still rife. To fight these threats, our security organization will improve border security at various points of entry by constructing physical barriers, such as walls, and incorporate appropriate security technological innovations that help curtail unlawful-border trespassers unnoticed access into the US. Moreover, we will enhance situational awareness of the land and maritime domains in order to stop and arrest unlawful immigrants before they can cause any harm. In the end, these initiatives will shut out infiltration into the US at designated points of entry.
At the same time, fraudulent documentation and deceiving travel practices hinder the government staff from validating foreign travelers arriving at various border points and preclearance facilities. Our organization will soon start counterchecking the traveler’s travel documents to identify correctly, screen, and vet them in order to stop known and suspected terrorists from getting into the US by use of deceptive travel methods. Besides, the energized scrutiny will help crash systematic transnational criminal activities of drug trafficking into the US as there will be a thorough inspection of inbound cargo. By combating illegal drug trafficking activities, the continuous existence of illicit American markets will be greatly reduced.
Extending the reach of US Border Security
Regional instability and international disagreements have threatened the survival global travel system. As a result, homeland security is facing its newest challenges from abroad. Additionally, DHS is confronted with the problem of controlling mass migration moves through the land and maritime entry points non-cooperating neighboring countries. In order to fight these threats, our security organization will extend the reach of the US border security by the use of forwarding forward-deployed border security operations like cutter patrols, customs, and immigration investigations as well as the travel security assets. The organization will seek the collaboration of other international players around the world. In partnership with other federal agencies, these initiatives will help the US its security to its borders, counter foreign threats early enough before reaching US soil.
Enhance recruitment, development and retention strategies that promote collaboration and teamwork
Our organization employees are the most valued assets. In order to achieve the organization set out goals, it important to establish a workforce that treasures the organization’s values, believes in the mission, and works towards attaining maximum possible excellence. With that in mind, the organization will look for the best potential recruits that will not only fit in the organization’s family but will also bring with them better improvement ideas. To do this, the organization will make the recruitment process easier and transparent for all involved. However, the organization will have to retain our most hardworking employees and make them even better by offering them opportunities for diverse experiences. We will also reward our employees for their individual and overall accomplishments. All these efforts will help build and nurture a positive work-related culture.
Grow existing and establish new partnerships
Within the outreach framework, our organization will intentionally seek collaboration with other security agencies and organizations to build and strengthen the much-needed cooperation that will promote common goals. Also, it will facilitate the provision of mutual support as everyone seeks to perform individual roles and duties meant to protect the nation. As a result, there will be improved familiarity with our partner’s roles and missions as well as better liaison and collaboration. Besides, the employee’s understanding within the organization will be broadened, and the challenging gaps that have been there for the past few years will be overcome. The existing conflicting roles on the different responsibilities of each security organ will also be ironed out and completely solved. In the end, official and unofficial ties will be developed, and national security will be enhanced.
Support the DoD in the shaping of emerging security law and policy
In search of a unique vantage point of convergence between the US government and industry, our organization has always experienced real impacts of the law and policy formulated by the government. Besides, we can easily identify areas where policy gaps give rise to unwanted security risks and uncertainty in industry practice. When called upon, as new laws and policies are being formulated, the organization will offer wholehearted support and application of our charter by providing or extensive experience and expertise on border security to the specific organs of the government charged with the responsibilities of law and policy guidelines. Through these initiatives, the organization will exercise all appropriate and legal means to identify, locate, and detain immigrants unlawfully present within the United States and cater for their timely repatriation. In the end, the organization will establish a culture of compliance to prevent employers from hiring unlawful laborers that displace Americans’ labor by applying a multi-prong approach, including enforcement, respect, and outreach.
Implementation plan
While the performance plan may be reviewed whenever an urgent need arises, on normal circumstances, the project will be reviewed on a regular basis during the set out governance cycle. The office of Primary and Coordinating responsibility will be established. Its primary duty will be ensuring that all departments will stick to the original without deviations. It will also come up with a mechanism of tracking a prosperous completion of the strategic plan by enhancing visibility to the top management on the qualitative and quantitative metrics and measures that show progress, especially for the organization’s priority goals. After its release, the organization directorate will incorporate the organization plan into individual worker’s plans for the following financial year.
Conclusion
As stated above, the unlawful immigration threats we face today are the most diverse our nation has faced in the last few decades. Our organizations present and futuristic response outlined in this effective plan will help ensure that those threats will cease to damage our nation’s security. The program will also energize all the parties involved and establish the much-needed momentum for successful goals achievement into the future. The organization’s decisions, priorities, and resources will be evaluated depending on how they support the goals and objectives of the plan. As all members of the organization strive to implement the program successfully, we will continue to perform our unique and patriotic duty of safeguarding our nation’s interests.
