Self-efficacy examination
Self-efficacy is defined as the personal judgement of how well the individual believes he/she can execute given tasks required to deal with specific situations. In this case, individuals have different believes in their capabilities when it comes to the executions of various tasks. This situation determines how one approaches multiple tasks, goals and how they deal with the numerous challenges they face. This paper will examine a colleague who holds a supervisory position in my workplace.
According to his experience in the workplace, he believes that everyone he supervises should be very efficient in the execution of the tasks given to him. This aspect makes him see the junior staff as very slow in work as without because they are not used to the work procedures, and they do not have the same experience as his. This aspect makes him very strict in the workplace, as he believes that success is based on meeting deadlines and achieving goals. He also believes that work planning plays a significant role in ensuring that it is done on time without delay. Through motivation, he ensures that every day’s work is met based on the set schedule.
To attain high self-efficacy, continuous practice in the various tasks undertaken is a crucial factor. This strategy enhances the individual skills in doing a specific job as well as improves the speed in executing the task. Motivation is also an essential aspect of enhancing self-efficacy. In this case, the various motivational strategies enhance individual attitude towards a given job and give them the courage to pursue specific goals.
