Self-introduction
I am a student at the
university of Park campus that is located close to the state college. I am
pursuing a degree in Environmental System Engineering. I am very fond of this
course since I have always wanted to solve different environmental problems
like water and food shortages, pollution, deforestation, and other emerging
problems that are a threat to both the environment and its resources.
Therefore, I hope to combine my knowledge from Biology, chemistry, and physics to
ensure that my ambitions become a reality. Interestingly, I am a huge football
fan and I can spend days playing football when I am off my class duties. It is
also interesting to know that I usually have sleepless nights when soccer
matches are available. I cannot rule out the fact that I am obsessed with
football. It is like my second god.
On the other hand, I am a very fierce critic of drugs. I don’t see the value of taking them or the reason why people should be taking drugs. I am sad to see many people becoming slaves to various drugs like tobacco or bhang. To me, that is just a waste of time and a reduction of lifespan. I have seen many school children wasting their precious time taking drugs with the result of being school dropouts. Furthermore, some parents usually spent a lot of money on drugs at the expense of their families. On my part, I view drugs as the enemy of the highest order. Therefore, I support and encourage the banning of drugs to restore normalcy to the lives of many drug addicts, school children, and also parents who consume drugs daily. The world should be a better place and it starts with the suppression of drug abuse.
On the other hand, I see drug laws as being weak and ineffective. This due to the fact that the rate of drug consumption is still high despite the existence of laws that govern the usage of drugs. I think that governments should introduce even stringent measures to curb the spread of drug abuse around the world. Drug laws should be thoroughly revised to include banning the distribution and selling of illegal drugs to vulnerable people like school children who may end up spoiling their futures and also the elderly who may be suffering from other pre-existing conditions. The penalties of also breaking the drug laws should also be clearly outlined so that people are aware of them.
