Servant Leadership
Introduction
Leadership describes an important aspect of organizational success, especially because it determines levels of employees output. According to, servant leaders prioritize employees’ needs and integrate them with organization goals. Throughout this course, I have learned that I possess several servant leadership strengths and weakness. For instance, I tolerate other people’s ideas and opinions, but my perfectionist nature affects my interpersonal relationship. I will act with humility, develop other leaders, and encourage peers to enhance my servant leadership abilities.
Throughout this course, I have learned that servant leaders enhance organization success because they act with humility, develop other leaders, and motivate colleagues. Mainly, leaders deserve these qualities to improve performance and increase output. I lack these qualities since as a perfectionist, I deserve things to be done as needed. For this reason, I often criticize other people who don’t perform things perfectly. As a result, lacking this leadership might lead me to discourage colleagues by discouraging their output. Consequently, the servant leader helps one to develop other leaders by being a mentor. Through mentorship, the mentor directs the mentee on work experience, offers professional socialization as well as personal support which facilitates success. In addition, through humility, servant leaders can humble to support other workers. Additionally, other servant leaders need to encourage peers to motivate them to increase their performance. Overall, these servant leadership traits help to promote performance.
From the above analysis, servant leaders need to act with humility, develop other leaders, as well as encourage peers to enhance the abilities of servant leadership. Through these qualities, servant leaders improve performance and increase organizational performance. Servant leadership helps leaders to develop other leaders through mentorship. As a result of mentorship, servant leaders offer professional socialization and support that facilitate success. More so, servant leaders’ help to encourage other peers and motivate them offering morale that increases performance. I feel that for organization performance, servant leadership are essential.
