A social enterprise is an organization established to fulfill particular social objectives that serve its primary purpose. It utilizes specific commercial strategies to maximize profit and achieve social, financial, and environmental goals. In the recent past, social enterprise has been rapidly rising, attracting increasing attention from different quarters (Trivedi & Stokols, 2011). The objective of the business is to maximize profit while at the same time maximizing benefits to society and the environment. The concept of social enterprise originated from the United Kingdom in the 1970s to counter commercial enterprise. They aim to offer financial benefits couples with social goals such as offering job training or housing to low income families (Trivedi & Stokols, 2011). As part of their business activities, social enterprise aim to support social programs in the society. Although both business and social enterprise exists to generate profit, social enterprise focus goes beyond the profit objective to use its impacts on the society as a yardstick to measure its performance (Gandhi & Raina, 2018).
