Operational guidelines within an organization help understand different ways to perform different routine activities. The standard operating procedures are defined as a step by step instructions that are developed within a given organizational context with the intention of helping perform common activities (Hidayat & Yanti, 2016). Standard operating procedures are essential in maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency across different organizational departments. Each department within an organization outlines a set of procedures that form how they are supposed to carry out common procedures. There are some cases where complex situations are defined through standard procedures (Handriani et al., 2019). The implementation of these guidelines presents a strong platform for change and improved commitment to efficiency and emphasis on better processes that improve commitment to specific changes that define change.
A standard operating procedure should be easy to ready, considering that it guides employees within a given context to follow the routine in addressing the needs within an organization (Karasev & Karaseva, 2019). An example, in this case, would be the different procedures that customer service departments follow when consumers are returning goods that are perceived to be bad or have been tampered with prior to customer use. Thus, in this case, an organization must clearly present a routine guideline targeting each case presented in ensuring that there is a high level of professionalism and customer service care.
