Structuralism

Structuralism is a linguistic, anthropology, and sociology framework that explains that aspects of human culture should be understood based on their relationship to a broader system. It operates to reveal the structures that motivate all activities that human beings do, feel, perceive, and even think. On the other hand, post-structuralism is a philosophy function whose work is to discard or physique upon all structuralism structures. Simply, it is the intellectual project that precedes structuralism.

Saussure, Derrida, and Barthes concepts explain best the differences between structuralism and post-structuralism. According to Saussure’s linguistic notion, it is evident that both theories base their arguments at the center of linguistics. This implies that they are somehow similar (7-12).

Structuralism aims at uncovering the objective realities and use it to find the through behind them. Structuralism extends scientific methods to social science realms. Structuralism opposes the works of natural sciences with an account to signify the systems.

On the other hand, post-structuralism poses a clear view explaining that structuralism’s pseudoscientific endeavors are ridiculous and futile. Post-structuralism argues that the facts and truths concerning reality are inexistent and inaccessible in the field of language (13-15).

Derrida poses out the differences claiming that presence metaphysics can be perceived from one form to another, that is, throughout the philosophy of Plato and others that follow it. Good. I’m calling because we’ve received your request to go over some homeowner’s insurance. Okay. What has you guys looking for homeowners insurance? What has you looking for a new homeowner’s insurance? Because we don’t have insurance right now. Okay. So, the home that you’re looking to insure is the [/]? Okay. Give me just one second. And the first name is… What company is this? I’m sorry. I’m with Quantum. We’re an independent insurance agency that works with multiple carriers, so we’re able to provide multiple options for your home and auto. Okay. So, tell me about yourself. Am I speaking with Abigail or? The husband. Abigail’s husband. Okay. And what’s your name? Jairo, J-A-I-R-O. Okay. If I decided to speak with you right now about the insurance, is it going to be through you, or you’re going to give my phone number to any other company? Because I’ve been receiving a lot of phone calls and I don’t like that. No, it will be through me. So, I would be the agent, and I’m able to quote and write through multiple carriers. So, no, I wouldn’t pass your phone number onto a different person. Okay. What’s your date of birth? My date of birth or her date of birth? It could be either one. Who do you want to be on here first? Do you want Abigail to be as the primary insured or yourself? Okay, let me jump over here. Let me see what I got is her date of birth here. I have her date of birth as 09/18/1981. Okay. How long have you lived in the home? Because we bought the property and we’re trying to… We’re supposed to live in another house because we got another house in Bastrop, but then that’s why we have an insurance […]. But then we decided to live on this property, so now we’re looking for insurance. Okay, give me just one second. Yes, just one second here. I’m going to pull up some information on your home. Like the year built and things like that, so give me just one second. Well, I don’t know if it is going to be a problem. That’s not even a house. It is like a […] home. No, it’s not going to be a problem. We can quote mobile homes as well. We have a carrier that we deal with specifically for mobile homes. Now the other address that you have was [/]? Is the address appearing on her information? Okay, give me one second. And give me the spelling of your name. Okay. So next, we’re going to utilize your insurance credit score to ensure that we get you the best rate that you qualify for, okay? Okay. So, the companies that we deal with give out great discounts if you bundle home and auto. So your premium, you will get a discount on your premium if you bundle both home and auto. Would you like to do that? We can quote for both home and auto. I don’t think so because there’s been a lot of insurance companies trying to give me a better price, but nobody could do it because I got a real good price on my insurance right now. We pay real cheap. Yes. We pay real cheap insurance, and a lot of companies, they have been trying to compare that price, but it’s not even close because we’ve been with this insurance for over eight years. Okay, Direct Auto. Give me just one second here. Okay. And I’m pulling up. But you don’t have any current insurance on your home, correct? Okay. Yes, we’re going to do that. Okay, let me see if we can get any information on like the year built. Okay, so it’s a mobile home, 1995. There is no foundation. On your mobile home, is it sitting on a slab, or is it tied down, is it on pier and beam? Well, the bank says that whoever set the house in that place, they drilled some kind of holes in the ground 40 feet deep, I think and […] with concrete, and then there is like a piece of five […] to the frame of the house. Okay, let’s jump over here. […]. Give me just one second. Is it a single wide, double-wide? I think it’s a double-wide. I don’t even know what’s the difference. Of course, it’s a double, right? That’s what it means. Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s double-wide because it’s a big house. Okay, all right, just one second. I’m going into the website where I can quote. This as owner. Okay. And are you guys located within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant or a water source, similar water source? No. Well, it’s not 100. It’s about 200 feet. I’m just going to say yes because the driveway, I think, is over 100 feet long, but, yeah, the fire hydrant is right on the street. Okay. Okay, double-wide. It’s on private property, right? Okay, let’s see. Have you had any roof work done on the mobile home? No, nothing. We bought the house two years ago. Okay. And then let me ask you this, when did your policy expire on your home? Like I said, I don’t know because we don’t have home insurance right now. We used to have insurance on […], but that’s like, two years ago because we sold the house. We own like five different properties. And this property, we don’t have insurance because we weren’t living on that house. By the way, we have insurance with State Farm on the other properties. On the other properties, okay. So, on your foundation, can you crawl up under your home? What do you mean? Yeah, it’s pretty high. Okay, is it sitting on piers and some beams, some blocks may be, wood and block? Yeah, like I said, there is some blocks in the middle of the trailer. But like I said, the bank says somebody drilled a hole 30 feet deep in the ground with concrete to seat that mobile home. And there is some kind of pipe well in the frame. They welled it. Do you have a… So, like a garage without walls? It covers the top. Okay. And do you have a deck built onto it in the front or the back? Is it treated wood or redwood wood… This is a crappy porch, but it is in the house. Okay. So 120 feet. Is it covered? Does it have a roof on it? Is it a covered porch? Okay. Do you have any other structures attached to the home or on the site? We are building like a small storage in the back. Almost. Almost everything is already done. We just need to put the doors on because we just started building like one month ago. Okay, is it wood or metal? We’re going to use it for storage, but […] and then everything. It’s just like a small apartment. Okay. And do you know what size it is? Okay. So, it’s coming up with ensuring the home at $121,651. So $121,651. Just one second. That’s how much they will insure the home for. If it was a total loss, you would get $121,651 minus your deductible. So, let me see. We’re going to do $12,165 for other structures and your personal property. What do you want your deductible to be on your perils? I don’t know. What are the options? So, you said $500, $1000, $1500 and $5000? No, $500, $1000, $2500, and $5000. Okay. And we’ll do a wind and hail deductible at 1% as well replacement cost. Have you had any losses claimed for this home in the past three years? Okay, give me one second here. There’s a series of questions we have to ask. Will you require any additional insurance to cover like specific items like any guns, jury, artwork, anything like that? I’ve got a gun collection, but there is insurance on there […] different companies. But you already have it covered? Okay. Will there be any business activities going on at the premises? Okay. And do you have any pets on the property like dogs? And if you do, what type of dog is it? Okay, give me just one second. So, I’m looking here on the preliminary quote. So looking here, it looks like the premium that they’re coming up with right now is for one year, $1634 for one year, and we divide that by 12. You’re looking at $136, roughly $137 a month for coverage on this on your home. And to get that started… So, they have an $850 policy activation fee. So, to get it started today, it would be $286.16. Okay, all right. Yeah, I think the price is not bad. Actually, it’s a pretty good price. But like we’ve been talking about this with my wife, she’s going to be the primary on the policy. So, I’m going to need to talk to her about this. If you can send me the information on the email, so I can show her and then she can […]. She’s going to need to make a decision because it’s under her name. Okay. The email address that I have here is the thekuruso@gmail.com. thekuruso? Do you know how long it will take for her to make a decision? Because I can call her and talk with her after she’s reviewed it to see if she has any additional questions or if she wants to add anything or take anything off. I’m going to talk to her this afternoon, and I think we’re going to be ready for tomorrow morning. I’m pretty sure she’s going to say yes because we’ve been looking for insurance. Okay. So, what I can do is… Hold on just a second. I can give you guys a callback later on this afternoon, and we can set it up for it to start tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be better. Okay. So, I can call tomorrow about what time? Okay. So, let me go ahead and set it up for tomorrow at I would say, 10:00, okay? All right. And I’ll give you guys a callback tomorrow at 10:00, okay? Perfect. Send me the info by email. Yes, sir. I’m getting ready to do that for you right now. You’re welcome. You have a great day. Thank you for talking to me.
