Summary of Interview Subject And Company

The interview involved one of the employees in the sales and marketing department in the Doral branch of Walmart Company. The business was chosen as it is one of the leading companies in America, meaning the culture must have been developed. It was also easy to access the employee who was on leave during the interview. The employee was a male, aged 29 years and had worked at Walmart for five years. The individual communicated in English correctly and was willing to offer information regarding its culture, which was the purpose of the interview. Informed consent was ensured before telling the worker that the interview was to determine Walmart’s culture and would not be used for another purpose, nor the actual name revealed at any point.

Interview Questions and Answers

Question: How would you summarize the corporate culture at Walmart Company?

Answer:  the culture of the company is inclusive and strong. There are about 2.3 associates in the various sections who are considered useful in meeting the buyers’ needs. Most times, Walton, the leader, says, ‘listen to your associates; they are your best idea generators.’ The togetherness creates an influential culture under which every activity depends on.

Question: What has motivated you to work at Walmart for five years and more?

Answer:  the company has ensured global communication regarding its culture.  Despite being a large corporation with many branches and operations, local leaders spend time with us communicating the culture of the company. The ideas passed help not only the company meet objectives but also career development opportunities.  I have, therefore, grown with the company giving me the motivation to report to work.

Question: how do the leaders relate with the workers?

Answer:   managers build a close relationship with employees, making it easy to convey information from one party to another. In the interaction, the leaders become presenters of the company culture by being role models, which make it easy for us to follow.

Question: How are the employees recognized after success?

Answer:   the company has rewarding criteria based on the achievements made. The most common appreciation is promotions, holidays, and team building activities.  The activities are held twice a year, which a great effort is considering the size of the company.

Question:  What changes would you suggest the company make to ensure better results in the future?

Answer:  the company has made culture the center of operations, which I find vital.  The company should maintain the same spirit as it makes it comfortable for everyone.
