Supporting a child’s learning

  1. How can I support my child’s learning in the classroom?

Parents play a crucial role in helping their children through the learning process. In the classroom, a parent should have regular contact with the child’s teacher to ensure that the learner is progressing well. This can be achieved by making visits to the school to discuss the child’s progress with the child, and this form of support is critical for a child’s development (Brown, 2017). For instance, a parent must attend the Parent-teacher conferences.

  1. How can I support my child at home?

At home, the parent must show an attitude that prompts the child to read. This can be achieved through the teaching of the various skills required in learning. A parent must take the mandate to teach skills like; Study skills and Organizational skills. Helping children is a form of support for learners (Mendoza, 2016). For example, when the teacher gives an assignment, a parent should encourage the learner to do it in time, and provide a helping hand to help the child understand.

  1. How will you be sure to include all children in the learning despite their differences?

A classroom contains children from different backgrounds, and for a teacher, it is my role to ensure equity in this diverse environment. The most basic method of including all children in the classroom is by celebrating diversity. Teaching all the children the importance of diversity, and making them love the diversified environment is crucial in incorporating the children (Westwood, 2018). For example, in sitting arrangements, I would place children from different backgrounds in the same position and encourage consultations and openness.

  1. What role do families play in the early childhood environment?

A family is an essential organ to a child’s development. Families play a huge role in the socialization and learning development of a child. In socialization, the family influences, to a great extent, a child’s skills, values, and security (Dworkin & Serido, 2017). For instance, in a family where members are do not embrace education, it is hard for a child to develop any educational skills.

  1. What are some activities that you will use to help children learn respect?

Numerous activities can be used to teach children to respect life. Activity cards involving respect are crucial in the development of respect by children. Teaching activities like turn-taking and discussing respect is also crucial in this step (Garner, 2017). For example, I will use an activity card that requires children to respect each other’s decisions.
