Sustainable means of transportation
Majority of students attending universities have no cars and are faced with transport issues, especially when they have to be continually moving from one campus location to another (Tieskoetter, 2019). This has proven to be quiet costly and time-consuming as well as exhausting, and it does not get any more comfortable on the students. The Bryan college needs to find practical ways to tackle this situation and make it easier on the students to move about and focus more on their studies rather than stressing on how to get by the next day.
An idea that might work one put in place will be the introduction of the shuttle services. Several universities have implanted this system on their campuses, and it has proven to be effective (Balsas, 2003). College students have found it easier to get to classes on time, focus on their lectures and be able to perform very well in their studies. Integration of the shuttles to universities have had a significant impact on the school’s transport system. For this to work effectively in the Bryan college, bus schedules should be put in place as this will enable the students to know when the bus will get there and how much time it will take. Infusing the programs with technology will also allow students to access the bus schedules on their phones, and it will also improve the services and increase ridership. Students like Wendy will be able to align their lectures with the bus, and most importantly, they should be able to access the shuttles free of charge.
Conclusion
Investing in shuttle mode of transportation is a guarantee to improve mobility, and even ensure class attendance is maintained, and student performance will also improve immensely. We all know students are usually broke most of the times; hence the free services will ease their worries and struggles. The university also needs to implement strict rules that will govern the students during this period and should also ensure the maintenance of the school properties. Introduction of the shuttles not only provides transportation services, but it also aids in the reduction of campus congestions and traffic. Wendy and other students in a similar position will be significantly impacted positively by this new addition, and that should find it easy and manageable to move around the different locations.
